I just stumbled on moto G4 this evening while getting more specifications about the device and it was said on android authority that by June, the phone will start getting 7.0 nougat updates.
Scott from Android Authority has received confirmation that the Nougat update is in the works. Through a Lenovo PR representative, the Moto G4 Play will begin receiving its update to Android Nougat starting in June

That's the Mini of the Moto G4 but at that price it's still a sweet deal,I owned the Original Moto G and it was a capable little device and currently owns a Moto Nexus 6 and it's as smooth as they come..Am tempted..

I own the Moto g4 and got the nougat update about three weeks ago. It's a very good phone with great battery life, ordered from Amazon usa December last year.... Getting it for that price in Nigeria is a big steal.
