Using last year's Point grading model, you have a total aggregate of 74.16(not bad).

Unfortunately,MBBS cut off for last year was 76.75 which is higher than your present aggregate. With the excellent and outstanding results of students in UTME and WASSCE this year,I dont think the cut off mark can reduce.Best is to remain that way.

I'd advise you switch to other disciplines from the college of Medicine as a precautionary move to forestall any possible regrets.You might want to consider;;

Dentistry 64.29
Physiotherapy 66.95
MLS 65.20
Nursing 67.00
Biochemistry 58.66
Physiology 57.79

Glad to see you know your aggregate already.

Unfortunately,Human Nutrition cut off last year was 57.16 which is almost 2 points above your present aggregate and I have searched the whole of College of Medicine, there is no course your aggregate can fetch you.

You might want to consider courses(below your aggregate) from the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry or Faculty of Education which befits your subject combination to change to.

Guys..

My Whatsapp has been crowded and overwhelmed with the news about the possibility of resuscitating PostUTME..It was "allegedly" reported that some of the admitted students of the 2016/2017 session were poor academically.

Details later... grin grin

UI TO WRITE 2017 POST-UTME

The premier university in Nigeria, University Of Ibadan have disclosed to hold her 2017 post-utme.
The Senate Meeting which was held today Monday 31St July 2017 in conjunction with the jamb registrar Isaq Oleyede have proposed  his approval on the university decision.
Abel Idowu Olayinka the VC of the prestigious university spoke  regardimg the students performance which was not commendable. He said in a statement 'The student we admitted as of last year 2016/2017 are not academically outstanding in performance, imagine a medical student who have A parallel in his WAEC and have 209 in jamb was admitted to MBBS. He also lamented on  students in college of medicine precisely MBBS and Dentistry  who had 4 and 6 respectively over 40 in a test. It have never being heard as regard the the mode of admission abducted by JAMB, student admitted are not performing as regards there JAMB and WAEC scores.
The university Registrar have concluded that the university will hold her POST-UTME in September but the date for the exam will be disclosed soon.

hello Bro.
What we do here is to calculate our aggregates using last year model and compare with last year cutoff, and give possible advice based on what we can "PREDICT"

With what you gave us, i calculated your aggregate as 55.33 using last year admission model.
The cutoff for nutrition last year was 57.16

now, its not as if you didnt make a good choice. You did.
General performance of jamb dis year was better than last year. Same as WAEC.. They said dey recorded d best result in 10 years.

This might probably imply that the quality of grades will increase this year and ultimately the cutoff might be higher than last year.

Now, where UI can be vicious, if you're 0.1 from the cutoff, you won't get your course.
I was 0.08 from cutoff last yr. I didnt get anything.

You were advised to change to Courses which your aggregate beat cutoff of last year.

You have another option though;
You can still keep up with nutrition, hoping the cutoff might drop this year. When UI releases cutoff, they will bring an option for Change of course. So if u didnt meet cutoff of nutrition, you can apply for UI change of course then,
but the risk is that its always better to beat your cutoff initially, because Change of course after screening might not work all the time.

I'll drop my Pen here.

UI used to use the O'level+UME grading systen until 2011 when they adopted writing of Post UME tests. The news is probably fake cus JAMB wouldn't hold a meeting with only UI but all Nigerian higher institutions.

Maybe TheHistorian could give a credible source to where it is copied from.

A lot of grammatical blunders in the write-up sef grin

According to what I heard ooh..

Prof Ishaq Oloyede(JAMB boss ofcourse)was present at UI's senate meeting today and he was explained to,the dangers of the cancellation of Post UTME which includes poor performance of students and many more.Though,It was reported that he(Prof Oloyede) didnt give an affirmative response but his mannerism of approach towards the situation suggests that Schools should be able to find a credible way of screening students so the best can be admitted.

The report earlier shared was sent to a whatsapp group ni jawey. The blunders are appalling.I rectified some but not all.

Actually, there is a whatsapp group but it wasnt created to forestall any "Secretive Admission dealings" by UI neither was it created to preempt the "Elimination strategies" by UI in its admission. grin grin grin

It's just basically to share and receive noteworthy information as regards UI 2017 admission exercise and create a social bond between applicants.

Post your number and I'd forward it to Host(the admin).I'd notify you as soon as I get the number so you can strike it out.
