Why? "Idolatry" is a religion just like Christianity or Islam. The last time I checked there's freedom of religion in Nigeria. What I don't subscribe to is shedding of blood. Otherwise this is a dumb move. The middle Eastern religion must not replace our own cultural religion. This must be resisted. 2 Likes |

Government should stop meddling with traditional rites especially if it has nothing to do with human sacrifice.the chiefs and kings should be the ones making the rules when it comes to traditions. 2 Likes |

Only in Africa people call their own traditions idolatry. Only in Africa the Ooni of the Yoruba people will claim to be a children to white jesus who clearly stated in his Bible he came for the jews. 5 Likes |

Beautiful. Not all aspects of culture should be preserved. Human life is not to be sacrificed because one king died after enjoying a lavish life. 3 Likes |

Proverb 16:12 It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness. A king ruling by the Spirit of God like David in our present day and generation is possible, we can't get over idolatry if we attach anything important to it,the bible says ''an idol is nothing in this world, for there is but one God,'' 1 cor 8:4. Kings past present can't do away with idolatry not because it gives them any support but because they have evil agenda themselves and only want to hide under something to justify their misdeed, same way many rich people refuse to serve God faithfully because of their desire to do things, they know God will be against if they truthfully want to follow him. |

I witnessed the things that followed the death and installation of Alake and Olota, it was a classic case of terrorism, murder and banditry. People kill people without remorse. It was like a sport for them. 2 Likes |

This is wrong in all ramifications. Tradition should not be toyed with, and should be separated from politics. If a king cannot go through the expected tradition, why not leave the kingship alone. You cannot choose which tradition to obey and which one to ignore while enjoying all the praises and accolades that comes with the throne. 1 Like 1 Share |
