Business / Re: What Do You Think Should Be Done To Appreciate Naira ? by SmartyPants(m): 3:44pm
Love800:
What do you mean by your step 3 and 4?
Can u explain further?

3. introduce monetary policies to stimulate access to capital and let the private sector do the rest

4. Introduce customs and excise policies to strangulate imports

Monetary policy controls the amount of money in supply in the economy mainly through the Monetary Policy Rate. In a very simplified form, the MPR is the official rate at which the Central Bank pays interest or lends to commercial banks [yes banks deposit their monies with the CBN too, and they also borrow from the CBN]. The rate at which commercial banks lend to others is always higher than the MPR. So when the CBN increases the MPR, loans become very expensive. This has the effect of preventing people from taking loans. At the same time, it also means that financial instruments such as treasury bills offer very high interest rates, so it becomes attractive for investors to buy them instead of investing in new businesses. Overall, once the MPR is high, it means there will be less business activity in the economy. This means, generally, that people who have money will be more frugal with it since they are investing most of their income in high-interest financial instruments. As a result, there will be less demand for consumer goods too, which means demand will fall and so too should prices across the board except some other factors [such as dollar prices] influence prices.

Right now the MPR is very high for all the reasons I just explained. What I was saying is that the MPR should eventually be reduced to a very low figure to make it more attractive for businesses to invest in actual commercial activities.

As for my point on customs and excise, I'm simply saying imports should face higher levies to discourage importers and encourage local production.

You mentioned Wealthy billionaire daughters which are 2% of the Average Nigerian women population.

Continue dwelling in your delusions and Grand Stupidity.

I really pity your wife for marrying a man like you with toddler reasonings. More power to her.

Fools like you think everything is rich/ poor
Even the rich chop breakfast too
They even get divorced more , so I don't even understand why you are bragging with rich billionaire daughters.
Just shows how dumb you sound

When you are done hallucinating then you come back to reality.

I'm talking about Average Nigerian urgent 2k survival babes which make up 70% to 90% of Nigerian women.

You are busy talking about the 2% wealthy billionaire daughters
Learn to comprehend and assimilate on a deeper level. I'm talking about majority not the privileged minority

Hallucinating

It's what I know..it's my world..

What you know is what's obtainable daily in your world of peasantry..

I am a 3rd generation rich kid tuned 50 something year old man and it will follow my kids..

My granddaddy was a millionaire in any currency..name it...till he passed at almost 90..I sure know if I mention his name,it will ring a bell..

He taught my dad how to live that way and my parents taught us how to live that way and pass it on to our kids..

I don't know what it means to "manage"
life and it's same with my kids and will be same with my grandkids..

So I don't understand your Miscreant spews..

Why the animosity and "hidden" jealousyIt is what it is..
And we're you expecting the rich to be like 30% of the population?

How "myriad"can one be upstairs

Stop being pained and stop with the generalisation that when you go to church on Saturday and see a man getting married, you pity him..

It's your kind you should pity..

Your same kind just like the men you see marrying on Saturdays..

It's what you know all your life..and might be so till you die..

And that's why you generalised..

You did a bad job trying to cover your mess up about how women these days are out for survival..

These "money hungry" girls from the boondocks have really dealt with you in this your short wretched life..🤣

You are forgetting that the constitution also gives a ground under which the can defect to another party and still retain their seats. maybe you really need to check your education again.

Please guy I recently purchased starlink internet
I need the best backup battery for it
Mind you I have a solar system, which I did for about 3million, 4 genus carbon tubular battery 230ah
Felicity 3.5k inverter and 60A Felicity controller

But I don't want to be turning on my solar all the time, I gave internet access to 2 neighbors and they will be pay for it 12k each month,

So I need a backup battery for the starlink, a backup battery that can last upto 3 or 4 hours just powering only the starlink, just incase I turn off my main solar system

Drake is a member of Sigma Pi Phi, a historically African American fraternity founded at Howard University in 1902.
Drake was initiated into the fraternity in 2009, shortly after his first hit song, “Best I Ever Had,” was released. In an interview he gave in 2015 to Billboard magazine, Drake stated that "Sigma was my home away from home. That's where I learned about discipline, brotherhood, about how to be a man.”

Drake is a homosexual.
Drake has a history of openly discussing his sexuality, and has hinted at it in several songs he has written, dating back to his early career.
He has also been photographed with several famous gay activists and celebrities, including Elton John and Frank Ocean.
He also had a high-profile relationship with British male actor Joshua Selby, which was reported in several media outlets.
Drake is also currently rumored to be in a relationship with singer and celebrity Sam Smith.

TV/Movies / Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by abduleez1(m): 3:43pm
Illusioneffect:

Exactly my point, most movies don't even think about how much they'll get back in theatres. Monkey man will definitely be successful in theatres, so far the cinemas and all involved get their money back in theatres it is a win win for Patel and could ensure he is trusted enough with a bigger budget. Lanthimos was not even thinking his movie would make up to 50 mil even profitable at all, that movie didn't stay in wide release for up to 2 weeks and still made that amount, what I meant by poor things didn't have a marketing budget means they didnt spend even up to marketing the movie in theatres - check up on that, their popularity came from the Oscars that's why it even had a wide release

Actually these award movies releasing in awards season, it's their actual plan to use Oscars and other awards buzz to promote their movie before going wide.
Awards campaign is kinda costly for the different individual bodies that's why studios push focus for a few movies they think have the best shot.

Poor Things released limited in December 8 and wide Dec 22 in the US. Then on January 12 moved to the UK & Ireland. VOD release was in February 27. So that movie was in wide release for over a month.
Besides, whether they were hoping to use Oscar to propel their popularity doesn't mean they don't have a plan for a traditional marketing strategy. Cos as long as I can remember I've hearing about Poor Things since a few weeks after Killers of The Flower Moon. Poor Things have been the talk of town for a long time before proper Oscars campaign around late December. That's the work of marketing. That's even long before Oscar's nominations in February.

I know how long I waited to see the film hearing good reviews about it almost every day for that period.

Apart from GEJ's government, it's very hard to win a legally sitting government, unless by coup which is not easy too if they're unable to detain the government head. As for this particular impeachment, it won't work because the governor has not broken any law or cause any public crises or misuse his power. The man is too too gentle to allow himself to be used up and down. This is the weakness that these guys are trying to take advantage of.

Mosdiii:
Before 1999, there was nothing like Fulani herdsmen or bandits.

There was nothing like Boko Haram.

There was nothing like Niger-Delta militants.

There was nothing like unknown gun men.

Nigerians don't pay taxes to go to their farms.

You could travel everywhere in Nigeria without fear of kidnappers or ritual killers.

There was nothing like sectionalism, tribalism and open nepotism.

Naira was matching dollar internationally.

The four refineries in Nigeria were working perfectly.

nafcon fertilizer was producing at optimum capacity.

Michelin was producing tyres in Nigeria.

Dunlop was producing tyres in Nigeria.

Textile and garment factories were striving in Kano.

Maiduguri is one of the most beautiful cities in Nigeria.

Calabar, onne, Warri and port Harcourt sea ports were operating in full capacity.

Aba, Onitsha, Nnewi were business heavens.

Nigerians sleep with both eyes closed.

There was relative peace all across the country.

Nigerians weren't japaing even under IBB and Abacha's government.

There was little or no presence of Aliko Dangote (monopoly)

But Democracy took all these away in just 24 years.

NYC crooked judge Engoron, is now under investigation. The investigation was prompted after a local attorney claimed to have had a conversation with Judge Engoron about issues related to Trump's recent legal case. The attorney who approached Engoron is described as a "high-profile New York real estate lawyer" whose law license was previously suspended. The attorney said he offered unsolicited advice to the judge about a law at issue in Trump's civil fraud case, which raised concerns about the judge's impartiality and led to the investigation into his decisions.

JB0707:
My husband and I both live in the uk and we join all our money and investments together, all the properties my husband acquired in Nigeria doesn’t have my name on it, at first I wasn’t bothered but now i am bothered because his family is chaotic. I started asking for my name to be included and i am not ok with the response am getting. I feel i am just working and I have nothing in my name. I love him but I don’t trust his family. Should i keep insisting or start my investment separately. I am just confused angry

JB0707, do you own any property? Let me help you, the answer is NO!

No buts as the documents show otherwise. You can't make claims for refund or ownership if you've got no receipt. Hubby knows this and yet decides to do as he wishes. Even if he had used a third party like his brother to make purchases, adjusting should not be an issue setting the records straight.

You could either continue investing together and he corrects the mistake or he simply buys you out. I have an assumption from your writing that he probably owns the lion's share of the investments. However, if he still delays, you could have a lawyer draft out the listed holdings and state each person's percentage on each. Get this signed and witnessed as well as notarized. This should be a fast process while you still press on the renaming.

If he would not do a simple step as affirming with his signature that you own part of the investments or tries to guilt trip you, simply know that a bigger scheme is in play there. Everyone dies in the end. However, receipts are means for the living in laying claim to anything. It might not be a family you would contend with. Even the Government and Omo Onile are potential contenders.

However, this whole thing is sticky and tricky. While you might be termed wanting to put a strain on your marriage, hubby too risked that. He should be protecting both you and the kids by putting things right. So, don't feel guilt-tripped while claiming what is yours. I pray for you the wisdom to make this happen. Going forward, all investments should be checked and cross-checked by you in the future.

Wishing you well - Teemy
