I need someone to tell me where i can learn how to build a good CMS. I have seen a couple of tutorials online, but am not a person who can learn by self-tutor.

Waiting for your responses.

Dude, creating a cms is no small task, let alone you.you could build one using software like dreamweaver (that's how i started).but the overall time per project was just too long.you're best off with a user friendly cms.i use exponent.it's terribly flexible and efficient, with full css support. If you're a design guru then it's as good as it gets.they also have step by step if you even new to design.it absolutely free too.www.exponentcms.org

Wow@ This means i got a lot to learn. I think i better start from learning how to use CSS, then i'll move on to CMS. What do you think Smartsoft? You seem to have a lot of experience in web development judging from your posts that i have read here.

building a cms will take your time but you'll gain a lot

a content management system is all about storing and retrieving data from a database, so u need
to design your database schema first.

next step is to list out what your cms will do and then draw your algorithm

to each stage of the algorithm, write the codes on paper or using an ide

use dreamweaver to design interface, dreamweaver 8 does css for you

test it

Or do ity stress free with joomla, wordpress etc

helpful? wink

There is one acronym that comes to mind. Let me see. Ah, yes! KISS tongue

Unless you need to have something specific to what you want to accomplish, as in, it doesn't exist elsewhere, why go through the time and expense? There are tons of CMS tools out there. Just pick the one that offers the most bang for the buck, so to speak. Sure, by building one yourself, as has been mentioned above, you learn from the experience. Other than that, why re-invent the wheel(s)?

As always, my 2 cents.

There are several ways to skin a cat (apologies to cat lovers) . You can build a CMS from scratch and of course the level of difficulty will depend on how complex your CMS is . I can give you instruction on how to build a simple basic PHP/Mysql CMS in one afternoon of work free of charge if you ask me.
At the same time , you can use an open source solution . Again how difficult this will be for you will depend on how complex your CMS is. I can give you more advice , only I often have little time and you may have to wait long for an answer. If you don't mind though just drop me a line at mail@websesame.com

Hey bloodline !

If you need to learn how to build a CMS for a dynamic website,The best way to learn doing that is a hands on practical approach to building one.

Funny enough I'm currently working on the CMS for 2 dynamic websites i recently completed. If you are anywhere near 24 Olowu in Ikeja, feel free to drop by at my office.Call me on 07028034947.

If you must deploy a really fast and straight forward cms,i think you should be considering using the latest version of phpmaker, aspmaker or coldfusionmaker series. It's a real improvement on the software with new features like ajax, optimized and reduced code aggregation.

In 1994 your friend told you not to invest in Amazon, in 1998 they said PayPal was a scam, in 2009 they told you bitcoin was a scam. Are you still friends with that person?

In 2017, I am your friend... I am telling you to invest and get connected. NETWORK MARKETING is the future.

Nigeria is no longer funny......
Exchange rate is over #300 to $1, bank interest rates is 33%, minimum wage is stuck at #18000, fuel price is #145, Kerosene sells @#220, Jobs are being lost in hundreds of thousands.
Oh Nigeria!. Even civil servants are no longer sure of their salary, oil workers are being laid off, banks are retrenching staff, salaries are slashed by management due to economic recession.
Your uncle that promised you a job is not even sure of his own. Thousands of graduates are passing out every year from universities, polytechnics, colleges of education to get which job?
