A black swan feeds its fish friends every day to the amazement of passers by. The swan picks up the feed and takes it to the mouths of the waiting fish, reports Southern City Papers.

"They became close friends after 3 years of playing together," say staff at Safari Park. "Every time I come to feed the swan, all the fish follow him to the bank, with mouths open. And he takes the food and puts some into each of the hungry mouths," says the feeder. "When everyone has eaten enough, the swan goes back onto the water and plays with his fish friends again."

good post Ileke-Idi. the Lions sure have a lot of community work just like elephants. infact i was just about to post pics of different cases where animals of oe species helps another. .

In Zoo Myrtle Beach Safari (South Carolina), orang utan Hanama takes good care of two little tiger cubs, Skukuza and Simh.
And according to the Zoo Director, he is an excellent babysitter. He is keeping an eye on them when they are playing, or takes them for a walk or holds them in his arms to cuddle.

Animals are not only amazingly intelligent, but they display knowing sentient awareness of unexpected attributes: its amazing to observe animals that have a sense of guilt, a sense of family, a sense of loyalty FAR exceeding that of humans, a sense of work ethic and duty, a sense of deception, stealth, cunning and deceitfulness, a sense of love, a sense of intense jealousy, and many more.

Any person who is a lover of animals both wild and domestic, and has taken time to observe them, will be in no doubt that they possess souls of some sort.

Dogs are not called "mans best friend" for nothing. They too have unique personalities and exhibit signs of love, fear, happiness, etc.

Elephants too are known to be almost man like in personalities.
They mourn their dead and show genuine care for one another.

Monkeys too. They looove to bond...i remember watching a documentary of monkies on the animal planet tvn and this monkey's baby died. She apparently couldnt get over his death as she continued to carry him on her back for a few days until reality set in. I wanted to cry lol....

Also penguins are good case studies. They really embody the whole "it takes a village...." Mentality...and so on.

Gotta go my battery is dying lol but bottom line animals DO have souls.

wow i have noticed jealousy in my cat. i remember when i used to go and pet a stray cat that used to come everyday to visit my cat, my cat would become jealous and start making attempts to divert & catch my attention. i cant really describe it, but yeahh that element was certainly there. .

i didnt actually buy my cat. i was actually leaving my house one cold winter night for some work (mind you it was freezing cold), and then this kitten just walked into my house, went to the top floor and slept on my bed. since i was getting late, i didnt want to put it out or anything also since it was very cold. so i went out and when i returned, he was waiting for me at the top of the stairs. when i looked at that innocent face staring up at me, i knew it has got to stay at my home. so i kept it.
(and then a few months later, he starts bringing all his friends to my home to show-off and all that. that was when i started getting really annoyed )

I thought the contention was whether the bible says that animals have souls or not. I have provided you with a verse of scripture that supports this. Distinguishing between the type of soul an animal has and that of a man is besides the point.

On the issue of "souls", I see no reason why that is the distinguishing feature of humanity. Reading the thread, I expected to see many christians denouncing the concept of animal "souls". Possibly, the thread hasnt attracted them yet.

In fact, I think I've heard Pagan9ja use the term "our animal equals". That carries deep meaning. I'd like to be a vegetarian but some of our furry friends are quite delicious and besides, plants are alive too; they're just easier to catch.

My whole family is animal loving. We have had pigeons, dogs, a cat and even a chicken we called Remi. She died a natural death. No one could bear to eat her.

oh dont worry about eating them. animals eat each other anyways. but as humans, it is good if we avoid eating animals, because we have the capacity to do it. also we must treat animals well when they are alive. it is also our duty to protect them. in my opinion, if there was ever an animal that suffers a lot in this planet, it s the chicken. you have no idea how they are treated in poultry farms. .
