I was really sad, but i tried to control my mood and returned to my hostel that evening, i tried calling her number but she wasnt picking, yet i continued dialing her number until she finally switched off her phone, i was in a state of despair and was unable to eat that night, my roomate was so happy to have the whole food for himself that night and never bothered to ask me my problem as i lay down on the bed that night. I started recollecting how i have starved myself, how i have used money for my upkeep and text books and how i have borrowed just to satisfy oge and now she is paying me back with this, tears fell out of my eyes as i remembered that i have almost wrecked my future just for a stupid relationship, hmmm God why is this happening to me! I asked, who knows what that man would be doing to her now i thought. I knew i really needed to share my pains with someone but who will that be?, i was thinking all these until i dozed off. The following day oge called me when i was preparing for school, at first i wanted to ignore it but on a second thought i picked it, oges voice was calm as she told me that she would like to meet me in the school around 12noon.
I barely concentrated that day in school and it wasnt long after noon she called and asked if i was free, i replied yes and she told me that she was waiting for me at the LOVE GARDEN. I met her their and i noticed she was avoiding my eyes, i wanted her to apologise to me first so i kept quiet, but i got another shock when she calmly told me that our relationship is over, whaaaat i gasped i really do not know how to feel at that moment, as i looked at her with hatred in my eyes....

Yeah you do have some errors in your write-up but i think you have a flair for writing. Keep writing and you can use a spell check to spot some obvious errors. Like when you said 'DRIVED' on the other thread - that did upset me a little bit to be honest angry

thanks bro

I don't know for others but for me ,you write well atleast you have a passion for it,even though you may need brushing up and improving But practice makes perfect and here is a good place as any to practice and you won't lack audience nor critics. I love your story ,its real and full of insights and hindsight and even now are so many young men passing through what you just described. Your story could show them a way forward. Am waiting to read more from you.

*continues* val's story

i{val} saw uche at the school cafe and i went to greet him, i was with my course mate mike that tuesday afternoon, but the look in uches face told me that all was not well so we had to sit by his side while he opened his heart and told us his whole story from the beginning, i really felt for him and told him that i am also passing through the same crisis with christy{details in diary of imostar/sexuality}, uche replied "they keep hurting us yet we cant still let them to go" mike smiled and said that his own is even worst and we all opened our ears as he told us his story
mikes story;
i had a girlfriend since my secondary school days and everyone in my village has known both of us, even my parents knew her as my friend, i had been sending her some of my savings since i entered the university and even assisted her in buying her jamb form last year. I do anything she asks of me, but just two months after getting admission she started playing me and going out with different guys yet i always forgive her at the end. Until one day when she came to my house and told me that she is moving on, that we are not compatible, i tried to beg her but she was adamant, so i then reminded her of all the things i had being doing for her in which she immediately flared up and asked me whether i was not sleeping with her, at the end we got into a fight in which i beat her up and she left only for a guy to call me that night threatning to deal with me, and till now i have not seen her again.
After listening to mikes story, we knew that we are not alone in this and how are we going to survive this calamity befalling us we wondered as we looked at each other.

I'm not following this long story but did you say out of N6000 your parents gave you as monthly or quarterly allowance, you gave her N3000 to do her hair?

This story is not unique, unfortunately. In the 60s a lot of women followed their men to the UK, worked day and night to sponsor their education etc (the arrangement being that once the man graduated and got a job, he would start working and the woman would start her own education). Anyway, mostly, once the man graduated, he would convince the woman that they should return to Nigeria and settle down there. The woman would pack up, move back to Naija, the man would get a lucrative job with his 'pali' from the UK, the woman would be relegated to a housewife or some lowly job, the man would one day 'wake up' and say, "sorry, you are not my category. I need to marry a graduate" and pack madam's load out.

There's lots of curses on some people's heads, no be small. God help us shocked

(forgive any grammatical error in advance wink)

*pls dont mind the english*

The silence between us has gone for long and yet none of us has spoken, i knew we were carried away with our different thoughts, just then uche spoke bringing us back to reality, sometimes you cant really blame the girls he said, most of them dont trust us, and with the numerous guys who always disturb them, offering them tempting things it do always get into there heads making them proud and to look down on you, they can have more than five guys around who are ready and ever willing to do anything for them, and once you are unable to meet up to her demands, she sees it as unseriousness on your part and uses that opportunity to do as she likes while still blaming you. You can have only her as your one and only friend while she has dozens and when you try to question her she would ask you whether she cant make friends again, you got a point there mike chipped in yet we keep hearing that there are some good girls out there and how can we know them, we all laughed at his funny question even though we knew he was right. I know some people will ask whether this is what we went to school to do, but the fact is that we are all humans and at a certain age our hormones do work overtime and it dosent know whether you are rich or poor, but the poor ones suffer in silence cos they are too ashamed to express their worries while the feminine folk sees them as not man enough, all these adversly affects them and most of them become introverts with high problem of inferiority complex yet we all have emotions. But the only mistake the female folks do make is not realising that the poor ones are the most trusted and sincere cos they will appreciate their love alot, and cant afford to cheat, but even though the female folks do deny it, majority of them are materialistic. After our discussions that afternoon mike left us while uche and i strolled down to my hostel....
