"BE INFORMED I know you may love watching movies but for Christ sake, don't get tempted. The movie Corpus Christi is due to be released this June to August. This disgusting film is set to appear in America later this year and it depicts Jesus and his disciples as homosexuals! As a play, this has already been in theatres for a while. It's called Corpus Christi ' which means 'The Christ Body.' It's a revolting mockery of our Lord. But, we can make a difference. If you do send this around, we may be able to prevent this film from showing in AFRICA. Apparently, some regions in Europe have already banned the film. We need a lot of prayers and a lot of e- mails. As a Christian I want to take a stand in what I believe in and stop the mockery of Jesus Christ our Savior. Please help us prevent such offenses against our Lord. Let's all try to raise awareness about this using all social media available to us and ensure that our lord and personal saviour is not insulted on our own land. Have a blessed day.

Please let's all work together on twitter, Facebook and bbm to raise awareness about corpus christi and prevent such an insulting movie from being shown on our soil. It will not take you more than 5 minutes to spread the message, so please do relay this message to as many people as you can.

Re: Stop Movie Portraying Jesus As Gay From Screening In Africa by Ptolomeus(m): 12:14am On Aug 06, 2012
We must not disciminar, homosexuals deserve the same respect as everyone else.
If Jesus was gay, that does not make better or worse ...
Paul said that man should not wear long hair ... and Jesus was ... There is evidence ...
I think it would be logical if we think that all the time Jesus shared with his disciples ...
Nothing is wrong with that ... The movie should be banned ...

@pagan 9ja God's love for mankind is like no other. Even when we are in sin, his grace is still upon us. This world is an evil place and I just pray that he continues to protect you from the harsh realities many are facing. Stay blessed.
Re: Stop Movie Portraying Jesus As Gay From Screening In Africa by trillville(m): 5:09am On Aug 06, 2012
@potolomeus, God loves all homosexuals ( at least to the best of my knowledge). It is the sin of homosexuality which he hates like any other sin such as fornication or murder. Whether you are a Christian or not, as a civil person you need to respect other people's beliefs. As a Christian I believe that my lord Jesus never committed any sin such as lying or even stealing. So any depiction of Jesus committing sin completely goes against my faith and belief not just the depiction of Jesus as being gay. Please join me and other well meaning nigerians to prevent such an atrocity as the viewing of this movie from taking place on our mother land.
By the way you mentioned that Jesus had long hair, have you ever seen Jesus?

A man walked around with 12 men, and 'loved' one... a bit suspect, don't you think?

John 13
His disciples stared at one another, at a loss to know which of them he meant. 23 One of them, the disciple whom Jesus loved, was reclining next to him. 24 Simon Peter motioned to this disciple and said, “Ask him which one he means.”

@muskeeto, u are truly free to have whatever beliefs u want. All I am asking is that u help ur fellow Nigerian brothers and sisters fight against the showing of this movie which insults both the Christian and Muslim faith. I hope as the good person u are, u can have sympathy on others and act to ensure the movie is banned.
Re: Stop Movie Portraying Jesus As Gay From Screening In Africa by Nobody: 9:09am On Aug 06, 2012
Would you rally to fight for a homosexual cause?
Re: Stop Movie Portraying Jesus As Gay From Screening In Africa by trillville(m): 9:33am On Aug 06, 2012
No, do u believe that it is a sin to be a Christian or Muslim?
Re: Stop Movie Portraying Jesus As Gay From Screening In Africa by Nobody: 10:06am On Aug 06, 2012
trillville: No, do u believe that it is a sin to be a Christian or Muslim?
Depends on what god one worships, just like homosexuality...

@muskeeto, even if ur god is against mine, as a good person do u feel it is right to insult another persons God? Can't we just be united nigerians and fight to protect each others beliefs when there are trampled on. Ur religion may support gays but that does not mean u should then believe or say that Jesus Christ was gay. That is an insult to the Christian faith. My topic may sound like I am attacking gays but really all I have been trying to say is I believe Jesus was without sin (christian view) thru out his life time, so any depiction of Jesus sinning is wrong in my view.

If people say Jesus was gay, would that affect your beliefs? Would it affect your salvation? Why don't u let God fight his battles?

@ OP, I think it's unnecessary for you to embark on this type campaign just because you assume a film portrays Christ as gay, methink people are at liberty to see whatever movie they choose to, embarking on needless campaigns to discredit a fictional work is just an indirect way of admitting that the content of the work might not be far from the truth.

When i see muslims say derogatory things about jesus it becomes so clear that perhaps over 99.8% of Nigerian muslims know nothing about Islam. Let me ask, what does the koran teach about Jesus? A homosexual? i want a muslim here to respond. What is the position in Islam for anyone who says any derogatory thing about any ofv the prophets of Allah? is Jesus among the prophets of Allah that should not be insulted? this questions and answers to them will show the muslims here who support the release of this movie that they are false Muslims, no true muslim will ever insult Jesus.

@muskeeto and @maxymilliano, I have heard ur advice. Have a good day.
Pls Nigerian Christians and Muslims let's come together to ensure that the movie corpus Christi is never shown in Nigeria. May the good lord bless us as we fight this insult on Jesus. Thank you.

What's this film called bigo.. Err good sir? Black ppl, we do weird stuff all the time. I'm beyond the point of being embarrassed though. Not so long ago, a film portraying jesus as black would have caused a similar reaction from oyinbos. Talk about hypoc... Anyways, like I was asking, what's the name of this film good sir?

You are being very insensitive.
In a similar fashion; If people said your mother was a prostitute How would it affect your birth? Why don't you let your mother fight for herself.

Let me put it in perspective for you;

What if someone wanted to make a movie that will portray your mother having sexual intercourse with a horse.

Would your response be "Oh it's just a fictional work and people are free to watch whatever they like"?

What if you complained about it and people's response was "you are indirectly admitting that your mom actually has sex with horses"?

Of course, instead of paying attention to the sensitivity of the issue, we can always talk about the bigotry and hypocrisy of these evil evil Christians who just will not stand back and let their Savior be defamed like normal civilized people would do.

Ok Mr.Anony, what's the sensitivity of the issue and will the content of the movie change your belief? I guess the answer is No. To the question you asked about my reaction if my mum is to be depicted as a horse-loving LovePeddler, i will take it good stride and see it as a figment of imagination at best.

It is either you are willfully refusing to see things from trillville's point of view or you really do not love your mother. In any case I don't blame you.

Hey guys, my aim is not to insult gay people in any way. My assumption when I started this thread was that a gay Christian would not be happy to see Jesus portrayed as gay. For the atheist and agnostics(I really do not know the difference between the two), it is written " a fool says there is no God". Take care and stayed blessed. May his grace be sufficient for us all.

Mr_Anony, I've read this news on a South African blog since last week even before the poster raised it up here today and some of the commenters on the blog were busy binding, casting and loosing at the same time. The question i asked myself was that does it really necessary to raise such campaign and should i be afraid of my religous beliefs and inclination being put to test?

In the same vein, does the activities of Boko haram elements changed the perception of MUSLIMS against their religion cum Prophet Muhammed? The answer is No. Same thing should apply here and panic should not be entertained except the belief is not deeply rooted in the Christian Bible.

Dear friend.
How ironic ... The only people who have seen Jesus, are losw pastors who say they were anointed by him, and allowed to collect tithes, lol.
You read the Bible, and have a picture of Jesus ...
Of course, that the purpose of the Bible does not cover sexual orientation of Jesus, whatever they are.
You are saying that being gay is like being a murderer?
Well ... I beg to differ with you and your bigotry.
I'll ask something ... are you black? are you Jewish?
You like it discriminate? I guess not ... So, do not discriminate against others. I'm not gay, but life has taught me to respect all human beings ... Do you also, even though you have a morbid fanaticism.
I strongly agree with the exhibition of that film, it provides elements and views.
I do not think that a good Christian stopped loving Jesus, whether or not homosex.ual.
My respects.

You are missing what I am saying: I am pointing to your insensitivity and nothing else.
It is irrelevant whether it affects my my christianity just like insulting your mother doesn't stop her from being your mother.
The problem is the cruelty of the insulter and those supporting such cruelty.
Re: Stop Movie Portraying Jesus As Gay From Screening In Africa by trillville(m): 5:07pm On Aug 06, 2012
Mr. Potolomeus, i am sincerely sorry if my post came out as offensive as you see it. I have nothing personally against gay people. I have had gay classmates while in college so I try not to judge people. When I mentioned murder, I also mentioned lying, stealing and fornication. I have lied many times in my life and done many other sinful things. I only manage not to sin by God's grace so I am the last person to judge another person as a sinner.
My issue is with the portrayal of Jesus as GAY
Re: Stop Movie Portraying Jesus As Gay From Screening In Africa by Nobody: 5:25pm On Aug 06, 2012
@Mr. Anony:
I have pictures of my mom. You have no picture of Jesus. Hope you catch my drift..
