Put solar panels on your roof to power the inverter, back up plans are essential, even with 247 electricity, you will still need it to save money. 247 Public Power supply will be steady but expensive.

Dude, you've totally missed the point when you label our sincere acknowledgments of improvements in public supply as Mediocre. The society you live in was able to achieve its huge power generating successes over a period of time and I am certain the habitats of that society acknowledged the micro steps taken to the point where you're now. We all acknowledge there is much more to be done but we would be totally dishonest if we don't acknowledge the micro successes recorded so far. Note, if previous administrations had actually played their part in developing the power sector, we won't be celebrating 'mediocrity' now.

Dude, spare me the sermon!

As long as your President devours $30,000/day meals while an overwhelming majority of the population starve to death, nothing you'll tell me will change my mind-HE IS MEDIOCRE AND NIGERIA CAN DO BETTER!

As long as he's clearly corrupt- HE IS MEDIOCRE AND NIGERIA CAN DO BETTER!

As long as he allows his illiterate wife to continue exhibiting her backwardness and displaying her myopism to the world by picking up undeserved Govt posts here and there, fighting for Govt Lands like it personally belongs to her, parties with the wives of other Heads of States and lavishing state funds on these jamborees while Nigerians starve---- HE IS MEDIOCRE AND NIGERIA CAN DO BETTER!

As long as he reads N500Million Newspapers while Nigerians starve---HE IS MEDIOCRE AND NIGERIA CAN DO BETTER!

As long as he keeps cavorting with those that destroyed Nigeria, and are still destroying Nigeria---- HE IS MEDIOCRE AND NIGERIA CAN DO BETTER!

As long as he keeps his worth secret and tells Nigerians to shut it---that they're his servants instead of him being theirs--- and he doesn't give a damn about declaring his assets so we can figure out how a recent College Professor became a Billionaire in Dollars overnight---- HE IS MEDIOCRE AND NIGERIA CAN DO BETTER!

Finally, as long as he's mediocre---- HE IS MEDIOCRE AND NIGERIA CAN DO BETTER!

So, please spare me the pontification and do what you know is right in your heart and stop celebrating mediocrity!

publisher: On a serious note,I've noticed that a lot of narrow-minded Nigerians, especially those doing menial jobs in Europe, seem to violently reject any positive news or developments in Nigeria. Led by their godfather Omoyele Sorowe(owner Sahara reporters),they glorify ANY negative news on Nigeria but frown and dispute the tinyest positive story in our land.

Na wa for some people o.

If it wasn't for our screams all over Social Media, the Govt would not deem it fit to to strive to provide imbe*eciles like yourself even 3 hrs Electricity! Animal King, do you realize there are some of "us" that have NEVER lived in Nigeria but we love it like it was our home-land because we see the potential of the people and the land and know that the Govt is just taking you guys for a ride with the constant corruption? I can name at least 1 or two of those people for you right now that are constantly on-line fighting for rights which illiterate beasts such as yourself don't even know you have. No wonder you think its ok for the Govt to give you stale half bread instead of steaming Eba with hot Egusi soup laden with all kinds of meat.

My friend shut up and push your Govt to do more. 12 hr electricity is not a source of joy or reason to relax when Billions of Dollars that collectively belong to the Nigerian people mysteriously find their way into the personal offshore accounts of those gangsters you guys constantly refer to as politicians!

Funkymallam: The Ministry of Power has assured that worst days of power supply in Nigeria are over, noting that the recent improvement in the sector would be maintained to meet international standards.
The ministry also refuted media reports that the Shiroro Dam which supplies water to the Shiroro Hydro Power Station was shut down by the workers union.

A statement by the Special Assistant, Media, to the Minister of Power, Mr. Ogbuagu Anikwe, read, “The reports were obviously planted by a handful of professional trade unionists in the leadership of the National Union of Electricity Employees, who do not consider anything sacred in their self-assigned mission of agitation and propaganda against the ongoing power sector reform.

“We would like to assure all Nigerians that the worst days are over as far as electricity is concerned. The current improvement is not irreversible. The programme for power development in Nigeria to international standards is very much on course, and the whole world is convinced that Nigeria is finally on the right electricity track.”

According to the ministry, the facility performed better than the 760mw-Kainji hydro power plant built in 1968, which had not been overhauled till date. It added that the station was a major contributor to the unprecedented 4,237mw on the national grid and the 70mw reserve generated since August 7, this year.

in my area, we enjoy atleast 23 hours power supply everyday... I give all the glory to God and thanks to our beloved President, may he live long in Jesus name. Amen. I pray he should complete the missing one hour before he leaves office in 2019. I think it's imposible to complete that before 2015... He needs more time to complete the good job he had started.

Ơ̴̴͡.̮Ơ̴̴̴͡ bad belle!!! GEJ is a mediocre we don hear Ʊ but that doesn't change the fact that power has improved.if GEJ who according to Ʊ is a mediocre can achieve this improvement in the power sector under 2 yrs then I wish a mediocre like Gej had been in power since independent instead of our performing past heads of states apart from obj and gowon who built the power plants we have today. Apart from those two what did the likes of buhari, ibb ,abacha achieve? How many power plant did they build? If they performed their duties instead of institutionalizing corruption we won't be celebrating what u call mediocre! If Ʊ like call him what Ʊ like you can not change the fact that power has improved

ujchief: Distribution/Transmission has been the major problem in the power sector. I gues when this is sorted out, we'll be able to enjoy more power. Power has improved tremendously in Umuahia and Aba, Abia state with the completion of the distribution station at umuahia, which taps directly from the afam power plant. Umuahia and environs (down to Obowo and ihite uboma both in imo state) now enjoy average of 18hrs of power per day.
I believe its posible.
^^^VERY TRUE.

I read that and the first on my mind was "what a daft response to the @post there". Man!! That is some serious brain fart . . .

The dude says his inverter is about to go off . . . you are here championing the claim that electricity has improved but instead you tell me to go put solar panels on his roof, and that even if he gets 24/7 electricity, he will still need to save money? I am thinking what the frell has that to do with his inverter about to crap out on him?
