What's On Your Skin? Soap Or Detergent? Lotions Or Emulsified Hydrogenated Oils? by PHARMTOKI(f): 11:19am On Aug 15, 2012
Do you know that most commercially manufactured soaps are more or less detergents? A lot of them contain synthetic surfactants which help to boost lather but ultimately end up stripping the skin of all its oils including the good oils needed to protect it from the elements and bacteria. In addition, most of these bars have the natural glycerin content removed from them and so the moisturizing properties are lost. What's worse,a major ingredient is beef fat or tallow obtained as a by product from the meat industry.Sometimes its listed as 'soap base'. Yes, really. So the next time you go shopping for your toiletries make sure you read the ingredients list. A lot of them might be responsible for some of the irritation you experience. BB:295b4041
