It’s very easy to answer this question because you have great hopes for the new. But really, taking a close and critical look at this question (are you really ready for 2008), you will find out that there is something some where that seems not to be too okay with your plans for 2008.

Do you know it’s not just enough for a farmer to have high hopes for harvest. Let’s imagine Mr. Farmer started a new season with the hope that the harvest season will be rewarding and a successful one. You know that if he ends there, he is not going to have a harvest at the end of the day – oh ok he will harvest a basket full of nothing. Certain things will need to be in place to guarantee success.

“Good intentions don’t move mountain, people do” said Peter Drucker, its not enough to have high hopes, I know that is where it starts from, but we must get down to work.

Let’s quickly go through things and areas of our lives that should be priority as we get ready – really get ready for 2008. You must be aware now that the age or dispensation we are in now demands that we develop skills; we are in the creative age if you must know, we need new set of skill – soft skills to thrive, such as superior communication skills, networking skills, negotiation skills and personal branding. Really, what I wish for you is a fulfilling year and I know you have what it takes to make it happen.

Did you know about the SMARTlifeSKILLS Training workshop also known as school of soft skills? The first session for the year will commence in Feb. 08, you don’t want to miss it, visit www.smartspeakersng.org/smartlifeskills.html for info.
