vire: well i believe as the world econmon continues to fail and more money is printed....its only logical that this will happen...i have spoken times without number about government BONDS and what really they mean when you here CBN going to sell BONDS....it means in lame man example....if you have alcohol of 60% concentration and you begin to add water....what you will have is still taste like alcohol but the concentration has been reduced to maybe 25% due to diluting with water....now to the price of goods since more money is printed by the way of BONDS...you will have the same 1000 naira but of lesser valus compare to last month and even last week....so since more money is chasing goods and services its only normal by the law of supply and demand to have prices go up..... so rather than focus on these issues you have no power to control, because the elite will always win in this game of money..... focus of improving your cashflow...create more avenues to make more money so your financial statement always will have a surplus....if not i see alot of people going into the class of super poor soon sir, i beg to disagree with your argument on the effect of government Bonds on the Economy. firstly, Bonds are sold by the government as an effective tool of controlling money supply and inflation in the economy as well as raising of funds to bridge the financing gap caused by budget deficits. In order to raise such monies Bonds are SOLDto the dealers/ investors (decreasing money supply)and used in financing of projects (money supply increases), so there is a net off there depending on how much is spent from the amount sold. Secondly, you need to know that monies are not just printed for printing sake. It is the value of your income generated from the sale of crude oil or other exports received in dollars that are printed in naira. my small piece! |

Why is SON forcing them to increase price? what kind of thing come be this naa abi na only rich people dey eat bread too? dem tak style increase the price of petrol and talk say na only the rich hi go affcet now we all sabi wia we dey, soon gari will join!!! Okay, lets see the sequence, please add if i don't capture everything. The price of PMS was increased from 65 to 97 per litre in Jnauray Followed by price per khw of electricity in July. In August, price of bread to increase by 20%. I see that they have devised a strategy to achieve their desire to reduce Nigeria population, and they want to do it at all cost. ButIthe almighty God who through His miraculous powers enabled the Isrealites to multiply an increase despite all the afflictions in the hands of Egyptians is on our side. He knew how He dealt with Pharaoh and all his cohorts, he will do it again |

The inflation rate has been in double digits for long. Everything is affected and that includes the price of bread. What we really need is a high purchasing power. That won't happen if there are no jobs. So, the government needs to create policies and frameworks that will help local companies to flourish against foreign competitors that have huge financial muscles. Look at China. Baidu is the most popular search engine because the government made deliberate policies to protect it from strong foreign competitors like google. Look at Europe and America, the manufacturing sector has virtually collapsed because their governments did not protect their local companies and products from cheaper Chinese products. Hence, their increasing unemployment rate. |

crackhouse: so u want to tell me that Gambia is better than Nigeria, eh? Yes, of course. They don't have to deal with boko haram over there and incessant kidnappings. Most importantly, they are still enjoying bread made of wheat without having to burn a hole in their wallets while you are stuck with cassava bread or over priced wheat bread, cakes and pastries. @Post Too bad! Enjoy the fresh air. |

Abrantie: On this one, it does. When cassava meant for garri production is now diverted to making flour, you should also expect a spike in the price of garri to go along with the new price of bread. Please check your nearest market again for the most current price of garri. |
