i went online to read users' experience. Most of them had terrible things to say about nokia500. They threw up a lot of issues ranging 4rm consistent hanging, screen going black to poor battery life. Almost every 1 of them attested to d 'hanging phenomenon'...a lot even called it 'd worst phone nokia ever made'. Hmmnnn...

Galaxy pocket is an android phone while Nokia 500 is symbian. Although 500 is more expensive, they are both low-end smart phones.

The fact is that android is a resource hungry OS and the experience you get with low speced android phones (especially in the area of UI smoothness and battery life) is not too good when compared to symbian with similar specs which is more resource efficient.

Also being a low end phone, it basically won't do some advanced stuff irrespective of the OS. So if you go with the android hype and buy a low speced one, you would be very disappointed just like most android users who come here to complain.

That said, the 500 is better speced in almost all areas I consider important e.g screen size resolution and pixel density, battery life, processor speed, camera, and being a Nokia phone durability and strength should not be a problem.

You can get a basic comparison here (although you should be careful how you interpret these comparisons as it should be in accordance with your needs and understanding what those specs mean) http://geekaphone.com/compare/Samsung-Galaxy-Pocket-vs-Nokia-500

@OP There is a thread by a galaxy pocket user on the phones page https://www.nairaland.com/1032188/galaxy-pocket-wahala complaining about a very common problem on android which is data consumption.

You can ask her about other issues regarding that phone like battery life e.t.c but you've got to be careful cos she may not have used something better and would think what she has is excellent.
