The federal government with its ceaseless war on the middleclass is mind boggling. It was like yesterday in a kind of policy somersault that OBJ cancelled all the toll gates and replace it with fuel price hike. Like Oliver Twist, the FG again is asking for another hike in fuel prices. It is only in this country that price of commodities only goes up and never down no matter what. I am sick and tired of this unresponsive government that we always troop out to vote for only to turn around to become our enemy as soon as they are sworn in. What is wrong with the toll gates in the first place? What happened to all the money made from the toll gates before they were eventually closed? Recently New York and New Jersey MTA declared that almost $1million dollar is made monthly at the Holland Tunnel toll gate. That money is used judiciously to maintain the tunnel. With hundred of thousands of vehicle passing through the toll gate everyday, why should a government in its right senses decide to close the toll gates only to hike the price of petroleum products. I think the time has come for the middle class in this country to come together and seize the running of this nation from this hawks. This so called leaders as we have today is only good at mortgaging the future of our children and the time to act is NOW.

If you want better infrastructure you actually have to pay for it, the govt is not a money printing machine wink

I think there's a correlatation between tax and development

UK: money made from road tax is used to build and maintain roads wink

the cost of living in most developed countries is high mainly because those people are paying for better services and infrastructure
