Using Airtel Blackberry Subscription On A Smartphone by Princejaponais(m): 5:51pm On Sep 13, 2012
Yesterday I found a post here on nairaland about using an airtel blackberry subscription on a smartphone. It consisits of sending BCM to 440 at 1400 naira. I did it and it worked for just the night. The following morning I tried browsing but I was told I have no cellular data connection. Though my data still indicates I have about 997 mb left. Can someone pls tell me how to continue using it? Thanks.

you dont need to visit any airtel office. just call customer service and complain that your data connection is erratic and u want to find out if there's a problem in your area.

i will say you do a reset on your device...(pull out the battery without switching off the phone), wait a few seconds and put it back.

the problem might just be poor data coverage where you are

@rainmaker12: I would have been glad if the data was unlimited cos it will help me a lot since am using an iPhone. I think airtel will best explain why. If anyone there knows how to get the unlimited data on airtel it will be nice.

What do you mean by unlimited? Are there things you can't do with the subscription? Well, that's what I'm using and I can access anything on mine.

I think Airtel should work on that unlimited subscription because I don't see any difference between blackberry and iPhone users or guys what do u think.

what i have been telling you is that with AIRTEL on android, no internet setting is required. you people need to stop visiting road side gsm engineers

if your android is a new device, just pop in the sim and subscribe to BIS. PLUG AND PLAY

the only network that gives unlimited data on one of its plans is ETISALAT and that only applies to BIS subscription.

all other data plans and all other networks have a DATA CAP on all their data plans, so you can not download non-stop. you can download until you use up your data and then renew your subscription

The difference is only 200 Naira. I've used BCM previously and now I'm using BSM. You still get the 1GB data. It's only on a blackberry you get limits on BSM i think.

correct. if you're using the data on a non BB, no point subscribing to BCM, BSM will give you the same 1GB.

After the BIS plan on one of my SIMs expired, i loaded a daily plan and its been auto renewing for 2 days now, even though the SIM isnt loaded.

Is this usual? If it is, i dont mind if they auto renew their higher plans too o!

Has anyone else experienced this?

More importantly, how do i stop this so they dont deduct 10k+ when next i recharge , lol !

trae_z: Use Airtel BIS wit your android/Nokia/laptop (with unlocked modem) etc. But 1st check 4 signal strength in your area. Its d cheapest data plan for non Blackberry people.

Either u send 'bsm' to 440 or dial *440*4#

Cost N1,200 & gives you 1gb for 30 days

Dial *141*712*0# to check ur data balance

if u exhaust your data b4 expiry send 'DEACTIVATE' to '440' & den subscribe again.

apn: internet.ng.airtel.com
username: internet
password: internet

DEACTIVATE doesn't work bro. I work there.
