It was a shocking incident which occured at d early hours of yesterday(thursday) at the GTB e- Banking centre at Egbeda.
My wife was accosted by two young men whom she met inside prentending to be having difficulty operating the
Machine. They watched as she withdrew her money before accosting her(when they noticed that the only security man on duty
had gone outside, apparently to attend to those using the machines outside the centre. They simply showed her a gun and asked
that she surrender all the money. she co operated and was instructed not to come out untill they were gone.
Please lets all be vigilant. Avoid withdrawing at quiet or deserted places as boys are now more desperate.

There are many GTB E-branches scattered across Lagos. Very convenient.

I do mine mainly at the one on CMD road in Magodo.

Poster advise is not to b ignored. Even going to branches that are exluded in this ember month. Because its Gtb is not if its first bank or skye bank pple will start talking trash. Theirs nothing special abt Gtb. I tire o

sorry about your loss, but seriously, your wife should not be withdrawing money at that time of the night. Whenever I have to use the ATM at night, I usually go with my firearm tucked into my jacket, and a canister of insecticide too. Anyone who tries to f.uck with me in an ATM at night will end up dead. It is that simple.

Prepare yourself and take heed. She was lucky it was only the money she lost and not something else.

TIPS
Before usage of an ATM, scan your surrounding. Any parked cars with one or two guys inside in an isolated ATM is always a danger sign.

i dont believe this, that e-center is always busy at evening hours and they close by latest 9pm. There's a queue anytime from 5pm downward and you are likely never alone. It's beside the busy road of Egbeda where passer-bys can even see whatever is going on there and there are cameras inside too.

In the e-branches, you can deposit cash in special ATMs, collect cash from ATMS, check & mini bank statements from ATMs, check banking transactions and effect transactions via special Internet banking portals provided for this purpose. In other words, its a one stop point for people whose transactions do not necessarily need them to interact with humans. It reduces cost of doing business for the organisation as they are able to roll out service points to meet their retail growth strategy.

if you use that place, then you should no its not possible for that place to be isolated. There are cameras there too and it's too transparent for such a thing to happen.

I can't believe that nairalanders can be so dull in their reasoning! Immediately I read the initial story i came to this conclusion; suspected the security guy as an accomplice. Some comments had gone as far as implicating his innocent wife. @op and godfather, Thanks for sharing.

If some people don't trust their wife, why extend it to others? On top how much will a wife lie to her husband that she was robbed at an ATM? @poster thanks for the observation. People should just be very careful where and when to withdraw money from the ATM - ATMs in secluded and quite areas shoud be avoided especially in the evenings, nights and early mornings.
