Ever since Ezra left Eyowo.com I have had issues with Eyowo's platform. He was the reason I even left cashenvoy to give them a trial because if anything went wrong I could easily get him on the phone or GTalk.

First, some 2 weeks ago settlements were not paid on one of the settlement days (Friday) and word wasn't sent out to any of their customers except you sent a mail asking.

Second, some 3-4 weeks ago Eyowo's site went down and we had a couple of payment for orders bouncing back because the site was down. Money was not really lost as the subscribers resorted to other forms of payment, but I hate disappointments from 3rd parties because some clients see these disappointments as coming from me and not Eyowo.

Now, this evening I just received an awakening from a commissioner in this state who just went to TruDigits.com to place a test order to see how Eyowo works since its the gateway I proposed we used for the second phase of a govt. project whose first phase I had completed successfully and has gone live. He tried to place an order some 30 minutes ago, all worked well until it got to Eyowo for processing and the processing died because as of my writing this post eyowo.com is offline and what you see there is the defautr IIS page.

Also, since last week Friday (which was the last settlement day) Eyowo has made no settlements. I am too busy to keep these settlements in my head and I won't be surprised if some have just been skipped like this. Its because of this downtime I remembered settlements were to be made last week Fridat (2 days ago). I have taken a run through the bank transaction logs from Friday to today and I don't see any settlements from Eyowo ...and again, no mail from them stating why the delay in settlements.

I don't see myself using Eyowo for anything serious from January next year. My problem with Voguepay is the 3k limit and I will seriously consider Cashenvoy and some guys who I recently created a plugin for simplepay4u.com.

When they announced their arrival, we all thought its our own very paypal. But from the story you have just narrated one can do nothing but to sigh. maybe they are having management issues or server issues. But still they ought to have emailed their users when they have difficulties.

The 3k limit on voguepay is really an issue, otherwise their services are great. Simplepay4u is also one to look into but am not still comfortable with them. Maybe you should create your own payment portal in your website using GTpay. The last time i spoke with my account officer regarding it i was told it costs about 75k (am not sure anymore). cool

@DualCore:
You are NOT alone in this thought, when Ezra told me he's left... I was shocked and they've been prolonging settlements not just this week, weeks back too. I just spoke with them about the current IIS default page and they said they're working on it. undecided

I am having second thoughts for GTPay now... Maybe that's its the way forward embarassed (SADLY).

I use VoguePay. As for settlements, your fund is mature after 2days and you can withdraw at anytime.

Having same problem with them.

The worst is dat dey don't even pick calls.

If der was gonna be a server downtime.it would have been okay to alert all your clients.

Eyowo get youself together.

Try Pay4me.com very reliable. Used on both NIS and FRSC sites. They don't disappoint. API very easy and not a one developer company.

why anyone will partner with all these jokes is still a wonder to me...They charge you 1% and charge the customer 1% making 2%.. whereas GT charges 1.5%... so, what is really cheaper? I don't get it..

They are unstable, unreliable, and undependable... so... why are you still with them... I really don't get it.. what's really their advantage?
Re: Eyowo.com Seems To Have Lost Focus by damola1: 12:39am On Sep 17, 2012
can anyone give just 1 reason or explain why they are better than Interswitch direct through GT?

Re: Eyowo.com Seems To Have Lost Focus by stagger: 3:29am On Sep 17, 2012
The big question to be asked is this: HOW MUCH MONEY DO THESE NEW PAYMENT PROCESSORS HAVE TO RUN THEIR BUSINESS?

Anything involving e-payments requires a great deal of capital expenditure not just in security, but in infrastructure to keep the payment gateways working 24 hours a day. Why do you think Interswitch is charging N150,000? They need the money to keep things moving!

Anyone who wants to run major payment processing projects is better off using companies like Interswitch or GTB who already have these structures in place. Startups will simply not cut it.

And I thought I was the only one having this issue. This explains all the several unpaid invoices since it's the default payment option on my end.

I'll switch if I find a better platform.

@Dual Core Does Simplepay4u have a WHMCS plugin?

Also, very important, does anyone know how long it takes to have GTPay up and running (that is, from Sign up to Integration), Any rough estimation would be appreciated.
Re: Eyowo.com Seems To Have Lost Focus by shopng: 5:43am On Sep 17, 2012
Well as it regards comparison between using GTpay or probably inter switch directly is that as for simplepay4u.com, as a web developer you don't have to wait too long to integrate a payment gateway on your website.Simplepay4u.com has the API and modules for most CMS platforms. Most importantly, with simplepay4u.com you don't have to wait for settlement days or have payment limits of 3k,I personally use simplepay4u.com on www.cotekit.com.so guys check it out.

@Shopng Interesting. I'll look them up. I may have to make do with them for the moment whilst I arrange my GTPay. Tired of all the downtimes experienced at Eyowo.

These payment solutions need to find a way to go mainstream. Many people haven't heard of a lot of them.
Re: Eyowo.com Seems To Have Lost Focus by Afam4eva(m): 8:34am On Sep 17, 2012
I also noticed that Eyowo has not been working but didn't know it was because of a certain Ezra. Why didn't they name the company Ezra instead of Eyowo so that we'll know that the company has folded the moment Ezra leaves. I don't understand how a company will make one man the engine room of their payment gateway. I guess we have to keep following this Ezra dude like twitter wherever he goes.

Eyowo down ?

Lucky me! Was about to introduce their platform to my kini next month. My IT guy recommended them, I almost bought the idea, was just waiting for my hubby to go through everything before we go live.

Like Afam asked, does this breakdown have anything to do with "ezra's exit" ?

Interswitch rocks, btw.

They are not better or more reliable. The only advantage is the start-up cost. GTPay is 75k to use their platform. Interswitch is 150k the last time I asked. Etranzact is about 145k. So these small ones offer newbie online shops the chance of starting the webshops with a lower setup fee.

I actually went for Eyowo because unlike other payment gateways, it's very easy and quick to setup.

Not to mention, the checkout page Eyowo provides is sleek and "professional" looking.

They've let me down though and once I switch there's no going back. undecided

They will have one sooner or later, depends on them. You can contact them and ask.
I have made one which they have tested and passed, a few things left to do on their part before it becomes the official plugin for them.

Eyowo, Voguepay, Cashenvoy, Simplepay4u and the rest are aggregators of different gateways including Interswitch. So everything goes into one wallet. Payment gateways and their problems are not for all to deal with, so why will I want to add payment gateway / Nigerian bank issues (and paperwork stress)to my already busy work schedule when these aggregators are in the business of taking away all the additional stress?

I mean let them do their business right while I focus on my business needs too.

Simplepay4u can even be used to accept payments from international customers using their credit cards, from what I see on the site. I just have a problem with the user interface of the site (which I think is being worked on) and some other technical stuff.

Ah, interesting. Because I'm switching to them for the time being. Before the plugin becomes "official" can it be used? I've dropped them a request though.

Ezra Olubi how mighty is your name grin

Tolu Agunbiade is she still working with them?

Leonard Inegbedion please do something about this eyowo issue...

now to Simplepay4u the name does not sound professional but my advice is never keep your money in any aggregator site they are not your bank. even banks in Nigeria do close down for business how much more them.

Re: Eyowo.com Seems To Have Lost Focus by DualCore1: 12:31pm On Sep 17, 2012
Eyowo is still down, not a word from these guys... not even a Twitter update. Last twitter update was in April and it reads "We apologize to our customers for the downtime. A network glitch at the data center where our server is housed was responsible. We are back". Downtimes look like a household name with Eyowo.

Looking at a whois on eyowo.com now is making me pissed:
Namesevers
Name Server.......... ns1.rapidswitch.com
Name Server.......... ns2.rapidswitch.com

These dudes are running their site (the main site at least) on shared hosting. angry
