Can someone please tell me the difference between the catholic church and protestants ?

They mostly hold on to the same creeds and tenets of faith, why then do the protestants castigate the RCC for their beliefs, seeing that they have derived most of their practices from Mother 'Church' and the Vicar of 'Christ' ?

The catholic church wasn't founded by Christ...if it was it wouldn't have killed people to pass on doctrines.....that church took part in the crusade that claimed the lives of many.....there is no way it was founded by Christ....except Christ never existed.....
