With all the talk of nuclear wars between Israel and Iran and their allies waiting to support them, what do we innocent bystanders from other non involved countries do?
If there is a war in the middle east and Egypt joins or talks, Africa is in and from the little I know about radiation, with wind, the particles can go on and on for miles on end.

Some people in Japan are still suffering from the after effects many years on after Hiroshima.

I get sick to my stomach when I think of the little to none protection Nigerians have against outside attack when we can't even stop the ones within.

How do we protect ourselves and families? How is Nigeria protected? How is our food and water supply protected? Housing and health supplies?

Bottom line, what should we do to protect ourselves amd communities in the event of an outbreak of nuclear war?

Depends on the scale. A massive strike will wipe us all out so you can't do much to stop it. But a a few nukes dropped in the middle east won't be a big threat.

A bunker made with lead (Pb) is the answer. It effectively shields radiation fall out of a nuclear bomb.

Given the statistically lower possibility of a nuclear attack than man-made tragedies (think Boko Haram-induced anomie, road accidents, vigilantism, and so on), I'd say your worries here are somewhat misplaced.
