If his Yoruba kith and Kin Obasanjo and Oladipo Diya were pardoned for plotting coup, does Awo deserve pardon for plotting coups against Nigeria?

NO!
it's not only Yoruba that are coup plotters as you seem to suggest. But NO pardon should be given Awolowo! Awo committed suicide which is unpardonable in African tradition. He should have gone to jail as IBB was about to jail him, then calling on GEJ to forgive him would have made sense.

In Haiti,
When evil men are buried, their remains is exhumed and burnt when their crimes are revealed so that their evil spirit does not enter another living person after their death. Should we adopt that culture in Nigeria? Too many people seem to have the same evil desires of some dead murderers.

Please this is just a suggestion to spiritually heal Nigeria of evil, no foul language is allowed.

Any person or group of persons that declare himself or themselves seceded from the country is/are criminal(s) and Awo/Gowon/OBJ/Muritala Mohammed treated them as such. If you repeat the same thing today, you will be used as suya by the Hausa/Fulani suya-men just as it happened in the past.

Yes, only that Awo himself knew yoruba being in its own country was the best scenario for Yoruba thus, he initially wanted to pull Yoruba out of Nigeria until he was offered the finance minister. Indeed he had earlier threatened to secede if the east did.

If Awo had acted in the best interest of Yoruba rather than his selfish interest, why are Yoruba today asking for break up of the country or a return to regionalism? Use your brain Bro, not your primitive sentiments.

The seed Awolowo planted in 1957 is germinating fine and bearing fruits.

This is the only legacy Awolowo left Nigerians! I hope he is in the deepest and hottest part of hell!

Nigerians are most stupid and unserious people in the universe. The most painful and disastrous part is that- they claim to know God when they are not. An exemplary of typical Nigeria is one of candidates that contested resent Anambra gubernatorial election, an undisputable rogue tagging his ill gotten wealth to God work and kindness. You people will continue wallowing in this sorry situation until you practice what God says in both your bible and Quran. Ojukkwu, Awo and your evil govt; they all connived to unleash on you the deadly war that killed millions of igbo’s people.
The question you should ask yourself if you are sensible enough is that “at whose interest are this people fighting for? Ojukwu father was one of the richest in Nigeria if not Africa, what legacy did he left behind and which programs of his, supported the poor masses both now and then? The most foolish part of it all is that you poor masses that have been subjected to be economically popper are still the one celebrating these crooks! Make use of your brain and stop bringing topic that add no value to your life and the system you were born into.
Nigeria? A Fail Nation.

What has this got to do with the thread? Or just the usual typical tribalistic nature of an unmistakeable group of Nigerians who must blame the ills of Nigeria on someone else to feel good about themselves? While infact, what killed the hitherto promising Nigerian project is that virus called TRIBALISM, which a specific politician called "Awolowo" introduced into our national political vocabulary and mindset.

Since that uneventful sad day in 1957, a series of cataclysmic events inspired solely by tribalism was unleashed in our politics, and Nigerians across the various ethnic divide were effectively doomed to exist as a truly united and prosperous nation.A virus that has continued to haunt Nigeria to this very day.

Yes, Awolowo was, is and will continue to be guilty of war crimes while Yakubu Gowon who was the commander-in-chief of armed and unarmed forces then is now Ibos' best friend. 37 years after your senseless war, you are still whining. If you start any senseless war now, you will be totally wiped out of Nigeria's map. You will not be starved of food this time around. Instead, you will all be bombed and shot with AK-47 riffles and survivors will be re-shot. We (Yorubas / Hausas / Fulanis) will wipe out the Nigerian Jews from the surface of earth. EEDIOTS
