Kafayat Oluwatoyin Shafau, the dance queen popularly known as Kaffy was tagged a phenomenal artist after she danced her way into the Guinness Book of World Record with her group, Imagnitos, in 2006 at the Nokia Silverbird Danceathon. She had since become a reference point in Nigerian entertainment industry.

You may not recognize the guys there, they are men now, and we don’t see them on our TV screens. But look closely, you should recognize the lady. She hasn’t changed much. Has she? If the kind of friends you keep shape you into what you become, I guess we have the guys in the picture to thank for giving us the Kaffy we have.

That was Kaffy in 2001, I gathered, on a visit to friends at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife. They may not be the closest of friends to Kaffy even then, but we gathered Kaffy was very friendly growing up; she still is.

Married now to Joseph Ameh, with a baby boy, Zimbio, and megabucks coming in from various contracts…the Kaffy in the picture is the fulfilled woman we now know.
