informatix: I am a programmer infact one of the Best in Nigeria. I learn how to program with a Laptop whose power doesnt Last for 1munite. I strongly DON'T agree power is a boundary in leraning programming.
A serious programmer should be able to know where to get 24hours light.cafe,bizcenter,govt. Office. I once travelled 150km to get a condusive environment to Start Apache tomcat version4 using java virtual machine.

import java.io.*;

class naija{
public Static void main(String args[]){
public String ans;
Bufferedreader input=new Bufferedreader(New Inputstreamreader(System.read());
System.out.print("I dont believe power shortage is a boundary to learning how to program"wink;

System.out.print("what do u think?"wink;
ans=input.readLine();
System.out.println(" you said"+ans);
}}

compile=javac naija.java
execute=java naija

You are nothing but a Noise Maker...see the rubbish code you wrote after all the mouth...

Get a relative, friend, colleague who have good PHCN in there area and go to their house whenever you need to code. Just make sure they are understanding before they start calling you names like "freeloader".

Simple solution: Buy more laptop batteries or get a solar laptop

@OP...me thinks it's gonna b good 4 u to relocate to any other place where there's enough electricity, could be in or outside ur current state of residence, Osogbo is a good place, u can also ask around. When i had a power issue too, dat waz wat i did, i'm even planning to move there permanently. So good luck bro P.S: Inec batteries and Solar power are good alternatives too.

Add an extra battery externally. Thus your pc will give you double performance.

This won't work!!
You'll only retain such knowledge for a short time. Nothing beats typing in your code and running it.
@OP, get a Netbook or a Solar charger.
Did you miss the part that says "while you wait for power"

ihebrooke:

If you read his post well, he stated that there is epileptic power supply in his place. How do others that reside in the area charge their phones, laptops?
Do they transport themselves to places to do the charging?
Does the poster live in isolated areas? Doesn't he have neighbours, friends?
You dont have money to buy a generator set, you also want to achieve a set goal, will you be ashamed of making a simple request(Bros, abeg help me charge this battery)?

Mr , it is the poster's choice, not yours.
He should choose any of the advices that suits him.
Since yours is the most "reasonable" idea, he might as well go for it.

Mtchew.

Thanks for making my typing short.

No mind that guy I don't know how He think.

Does it mean you don't cut ur hair, go to the place u cut ur hair and charge ur tin OR does it mean all the people that have generator in your area are all your enemies?

Why not take ur battery drop it there and come back to carry it when they must have off their generator.

Don't u drink beer or cold tins, why not go there where u drink and do ur tin.

You don't even need to spend a dime on it.

Re: Help A Frustrated Programmer With Power Problem by NumberOne2(m): 1:03pm On Feb 09, 2013
Get a HP Mini. Fully charged the battery lasts for 8 hours.
I got one about 55,000 and it has saved me a lot of petrol money for the gen.
