Over 100 US bound passengers were today stranded at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos in anticipation of Hurricane Sandy.

National Mirror’s correspondent at MMIA gathered that the passengers were informed of the cancellation of their flights due to the weather storm, “Hurricane Sandy” that was predicted to hit most of the cities of the East coast of the US .

As at the time of filing this report, our correspondent gathered that United Airline has cancelled its Lagos-Houston Texas flight while Delta Air Lines was yet to do so.

Also, Arik Air has equally cancelled all its flights from Lagos to New York due to the Hurricane Sandy.

Our correspondent further gathered that airlines operating stopover flights from Lagos to the East Coast of US like British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Emirates and Etihad Airways have cancelled their flights to the US.
