Good development. My ONLY question would be do the 1250 tricycle correspond to the number of okada riders that are being prohibited from okada business and who will eventually loose their source of income? If no, then what provisions or other jobs have been provided for them? If none. then it may only increase crime rates and cause more hardship on the population which can have rippling effects on the economy of the state |

Uduaghan is a fool. Mumu governor. Vechicle are not even enough. People are treaking as if dey don't have money to pay for their fair. What did okada rider do to governor of delta state. That is their major source of employment. It will only increase crime rate. And u know what I mean by dat. Warri is on fire |

And who will they attack Oga mi?The truth is that these govts are making some mistake by not providing what is neccesary for the ppl. However,i think it is for our own good.God bless Nigeria |

B realistic bro.. Many places in Europe roads are very narrow yet people walk my friend. When did this okada come into Nigeria sef? Bad road, bad road.. na only okada sabi ride for bad road sef? How many keke did Amaechi gave to them in PH before banning okada? Has armed robbers taken over PH since their ban took place? Are you not seeing some element of sanity there now? I am not a usual government advocate but am with them on this one. Situation will gradually correct itself and that menace will go away. We always talk as if okada is the only profession left available in Nigeria. |

D recent craze for ban on okada really baffles me. I m still trying to get d reason behind ds bans. Cos if dey say its to reduce d rate of robbery, dat is so not true cos d real robbers don't even use okada but sophistacated cars. N if dey say accidents, den dey shud ban all d cars plying d highway dat r involved in accidents. I wud rather advice dat our roads be well fixed n d power situation be fixed b4 we go abt ds bans |

In 1987 General Babangida inaugurated the integrated mass transit system, but unfortunately it wasn't implemented until recently when the Lagos State Government took up the idea. We should push for the implementation of this policy as a solution to our transport problems. When moving from one district of a city to the other people should use BRT, rail or ferry systems. Bus stops should be built at ferry terminals and train stations so that commuters can easily go from one mode of transport to the other. Mini bus taxis (danfo), motorcycle taxis (okada) and auto-rickshaws (keker Marwa) should primarily ply routes within a district. Some of the okada riders might take to crime, but that will be a minority. Majority will have the moral boundary that will prevent them from taking to crime. They'll become porters (wheel barrow pushers) at markets, vegetable and fruit sellers, cobblers, etc. (Remember, there are other options apart from crime and okada). My belief. I believe we should pressurise state governments to implement multi-modal transport solutions. How come only Lagos State has a BRT system? I also believe that skills acquisition centres should be set up for those who may lose their source of livelihood because of the ban on okada operations. They should be taught carpentry, tailoring, soap making, etc. |

Before you guys continue saying nonsense on here.. Ask yourselves the % of nigerians this okada biz is giving employment. Ask yourselves again how many citizens are benefiting 4rm this okada rides. You see, the problem with transportation is not the express or tarred roads where u hav safer alternatives like buses or even keke. The problem is gettin to ur house that is far off from a major road that buses and keke plies. This is not fair... 9ja is just not matured enough for this yet.. It's like tryin to build a house from the roof.. |
