Are The Young People Of Today Very Lazy And Materialistic? by Nobody: 1:08pm On Nov 16, 2012
I was in the office one day discussing with my boss’ friend. He told me how he was relating with young people like my humble self and practically announced that our generation was filled with lazy and unintelligent people.

I was slightly offended by that statement and was quick to rise to ‘our’ defense; I mean he could as well be saying I was lazy and unintelligent! angry He cited examples where he was discussing with young people and found out some could not spell, some who never read books of any kind and a guy who did not know that iron ore was a mineral resource ( shocked ).

In his own words, “everybody just wants to hammer like Davido and wizkid..”.

He said even the educational system was easier for us, thanks to the various technologies we have but we are still lazy about it. Anyway, our talk was insightful and even though i hated to admit it, i knew he had points! Anyway opinions please! grin

Why are you bothered by your boss' friend statement, that is his opinion and he is entitled to what he says.

Ofcourse it can be that most youth he comes in contact with are the lazy ones and you made that clear from your post that he said that

Besides I never found where he said ALL(generalisation) the youths in our generation,if he had said that then I could say he was just being gibberish.

If in actual if fact he meant that you are lazy, that he said that doesnt necessarily he is right and you dont have to defend this generation, you just have to be yourself and do what's right.

If some youths he met can't spell well and some doñt know that iron ore is a mineral, then he met the wrong people.

He can only say what he observed and that's his opinion.

If our Generation is lazy, it's because of the seeds his generations planted for us so he shouldn't blame it on us. They caused it so they should live with it.

I think your boss is also LAZY. Instead of him to focus on his work, he is busy going around discussing with Young people, or is it because he is fortunate to be in a position, he is now running his mouth against the youth. RUBBISH

Yeah, I agree some are lazy, but not all. It's not different in his own generation I bet.

Truth be said. A larger percentage of us youths are actually ђã†̥ ur boss has inferred. I'll only say U̶̲̥̅̊ should not less be concern but be the best in ђã†̥ever U̶̲̥̅̊ have set out for; taking up challenges to effectively change ur understanding & environment.

However, the problem isn't naming it; its finding the solution all together as a force. I think Your boss has failed in that.

The youths are lazy no doubt but while we are at it, let's not forget who raised them.

Am in agreement with this post sir.

Materialism and laziness have eaten up this generation with just few exception.

Its not a Nigerian thin, its a global phenomenon . That's why I have fears for the so called western super powers,
Their coming generation might not have the character and attitude to sustain the leadership position they've held for so long.

Now this is the acidtalk I used to know.
Am sure you allowed someone to steal your password yesternight and post in your stead
welcome back !!!

I get so pissed the fûck up whenever i read or hear something like this and it also baffles me when a group youths just agree and say youths of today are lazy, youths of today can't read, youths of today can't this or can't that.
This whole scenerio simply pegs the older generation as a failure. They had the best quality of everything back in their days. Someone ones told me that back then a university hostle room was just for 3 students, lecture halls with no more than 20students, unlike now that you find 16students in one room and over 300students in the same lecture hall that housed 20students in the past. Now they are getting old and in power. They introduced corruption, they introduced sit tight syndrome. Is it the youths that fight in NASS? Is it the youths that sit down to plan how rig elections? Is it the youths that are destroying the economy of this nation? Is it the youths that partake in subsidy and pension scams? Is it the youths that are sponsoring terrorism? Who are the sugardaddies that have made it close to impossible for the youth to get a wife today? The list is just endless. Truth is it's never the youths, its the elders that had the best of everything that have destroyed everything and is leaving nothing for the our own generation to survive on. And one more thing to remember o you self-righteous elders an igbo addage say*as the she-goat is eating the yam, she should remember that the kid is close by watching her mouth*.

Who dey vomit that sh1t, am not lazy.

You see the man is using you to qualify other youths, that means you aren't .......

Amend ur ways.

As for the mumu that qualified youths of nawadays lazy, is seriously insane.
Tell me all the developments, technology that is today, who made it and tell me who are the leaders of corruption nawadays.

Well, that is what everybody does, if one pass a particular level of life he/she will qualify those currently on the level as lazy niggaz.

@Poster make changes so that ur boss or whatever shouldn't conclude just like that.
