I inserted my former Glo Sim on the New Glo Bolt modem this morning and it could only see GSM network, no Edge at all. I put the Sim back on phone and connected through PC Suite and behold, it is browsing. Does that mean that you can only use the Sim that came with the Glo Bolt Modem before it can connect? Has any person experience this before?
Meanwhile, when I put back the Sim card that came with it, Edge signal showed up. What could this be? Any idea from the house?

If this Glo Bolt Modem does not work with other 3G activated Glo Sim then, don't even border about unlocking it. I will find out from their customer care anyway.

I think this new Glo Bolt modem is tied to the Sim Card that comes along with it. Below is the response I got from Glo on twitter when I enquired from them. Thank you.

For those of you that are asking whether this Glo Bolt Modem can be unlocked, there is no need for that. The Modem only work with the Sim Card that comes with it.
After asking Glo customer care earlier today if other Glo Sim cards can work on this Modem, though they told me no then, I connected the Modem with my other 3G activated Glo Sim card.
This time, the Edge signal came up unlike yesterday that it only shows GSM signal. I first tried to check my data usage and balance, it refuses to show. Then, I tried to connect to the internet and this never went through.
So, I put back the Sim card that came with it and once and then it connected. Therefore, if even Glo Sim cards cannot work on this Modem except the one that came with it, it is of no use to attempts to unlock it. Good luck as the new Glo Bolt Modem is tied just to one Sim card. What do you think?

Weeellllllll, there seems to be good news. The Glo Bolt modem is now connecting with my old Glo sim card.

Yes of course! Push back the the white top cover and it will open. Then, insert your Sim in the Sim port and off your go. If you you also have a Micro SD Memory card, you can use with it as it support up to 8GB. Rule your world! Glo

I couldn't believed my eyes to find out that, the connection speed of Glo Netpro Modem was showing 7.2Mps while the almighty new Glo Bolt Modem was displaying a miserable 236.8Kbps. Is it because there's no Glo 3G service yet in my location?

Sadly, am more interested in knowing about Glo's expansion plans of their 3G network. Common guys, its almost how many years now since you launched 3G and ur still stuck in Kaduna, Kano, Zaria, Jos, Bauchi, Abuja, Minna, Lokoja. Apart from Bauchi in the North East, Glo 3G is almost non-existent. I always wonder which juju Airtel used to launch 3.75G simulatenously in all the 36 states captitals. No GSM provider has come even close to their coverage. MTN & Etisalat are currently leading after Airtel. Glo should wake up & start expanding.

Well, it is true that Glo 3G is not yet available across all the State capitals in Nigeria right now but, that is not to say that Glo is not working on it already.
By the way, I hope you know that Glo Optic Fiber cable have been laid across Nigeria. So, let's wait for Glo to launch their 3G services gradually. Thank you.

Well, you people under Glo 3G coverage may be having it fine but, for people like browsing under Edge where it is fluctuating between Edge and GSM signal, it is really terrible.

My free 500MB that came with my Glo Bolt Modem is about to finish. Just having 8MB left.

Just tried my own now found out that you cannot unlock Glo Bolt Modem. I tried Airtel ZTE MF190 Modem earlier and it was the same sorry story. Na wa oh.

Wow! I love the sharing feature of this glo! I subscribed to always min 3000 naira plan for 2gig! And am using same subscription on my two phones. I even connect to laptop via wifi. Innovation at its best. Rule your world

Don't even get me started on that one. My PS3 is on lock down from the internet sef. Used to get super fast 3G+ speeds in Kaduna at one of my locations, sadly glo EDGE is unstable in my new location. Just managing Airtel 3G.

i am confused o, is Airtel ZTE MF190, Etisalat ZTE, or MTN huawei faster than this GLO Bolt modem?...thanks
