Tenerife Concert Hall, Spain
Who else but Santiago Calatrava could have created this sculptural work of art, the Tenerife Concert Hall in the Canary Islands of Spain? The dramatic curve of its sweeping roof gives it an entirely unique silhouette, especially when viewed from the side. Made from concrete, the auditorium connects the city of Tenerife with the ocean.

The Sheep Building & Sheepdog Building (Waikato, New Zealand) tongue


Known for its rolling emerald hills dotted with what can only be described as a sea of terrestrial sheep, it’s rather fitting that in a land where wooly creatures out number humans twelve to one that Tirau boasts the world’s only known corrugated iron sheep-shaped structure along with a companion sheep dog version. Housing a wool and craft shop, the sheep building provides a perfect complement to its canine compadre (which happens to be the location of the town’s i-SITE Visitor Information Center). Both are crafted by local artist Steven Clothier, the brains behind “Corrugated Creations” and the reason why this small New Zealand locale is now covered with hundreds of smaller scale but equally quirky iron sculptures

The Tianzi Hotel, China (i must see this one this December) smiley


Ten stories tall, the Tianzi Hotel in Hebei Province, China holds the world record for the world’s “biggest image building”. The three figures that make up its hulking shape are Fu Lu Shou – good fortune, prosperity and longevity.

Mushroom House, the owners prefer the name "Pod House", is a private home at 142 Park Road in Perinton near Powder Mills Park south of Bushnell's Basin.

Sooo beautiful, except the Mercedes Benz house, the "elephant on house", and the "Airplane house". Looking like something made from chalk. SMH. Who even let that guy put a heavy elephant on his house in such a residential area? What area is that?

Architect Markus Voglreiter started this house by building a '70s style house and later attached parts to make it look like a car.

(Santiago Calatrava): The PATH Terminal at the WTC site in New York is the final building design for the rebuilding project. In the days immediately following the reveal, it is clear that this building has captured the favor of the general public.

fellis: The Crooked Building

Located in Sopot, Poland at Bohaterów Monte Cassino Street the Crooked House was constructed in 2003 based off of drawings from Jan Marcin Szancer and Per Dahlberg. Additional Photos and construction details from here

The brainchild of the founder of the Longaberger Company the distinctive "Basket Building" as it is known is located in Newark, Ohio, USA. The building is a 160 times replica of one of the company's signature products, the Medium Market Basket. A seven story stucco over steel structure the "Basket Building" has become an icon and attracted media attention from around the world. Constructed in the 1990's the building opened for business in December 1997.


I love this! This was briliantly constructed.
