Afang soup is a tasty dish from Cross River and Akwa Ibom States. It is also called Ukazi and is cooked differently by the Igbos. Consisting of basically vegetables, this soup is rich in Vitamins, Protein and fibre.

Ingredients

Grinded or pounded Afang leaves,
Waterleaf
1kg Meat/Chicken/Goatmeat
Rich meat stock
Stockfish
Dried Fish
200g Kpomo
4 cups Perewinkle
6 Chilli Pepper
1 cup Crayfish, ground
2 Seasoning cubes to taste
2 cups Palm Oil
1 Onion bulb

Directions
Season the meat with pepper,onion,maggi and salt.
When the meat is soft, add the stockfish, dried fish and kpomo
Cook till you have about one cup of stock water in the pot
Add the shredded waterleaf and cook for about 3minutes
Add the crayfish and the palm oil and afang
Cook for about 1 or 2minutes
Add salt to taste and Enjoy with fufu/Akpu/Eba/pounded yam/semo

No dear..its Afang not Afam and its not the same as ugo..u can find it in your market..just ask akwa-ibom people around
