Hello Javanian and fellow forum members!

I understand that choosing the right programming language to start with can be a daunting task, especially for beginners. Allow me to provide some guidance on this matter.

When it comes to selecting a programming language to begin your journey, there are a few factors to consider, such as your goals, interests, and the type of applications you want to develop. Here are a few popular programming languages that are often recommended for beginners:

1. Python:
Python is widely regarded as a beginner-friendly language due to its simplicity and readability. It has a clean syntax that makes it easy to understand and learn. Python is versatile and can be used for a wide range of applications, including web development, data analysis, and artificial intelligence.

2. JavaScript:
JavaScript is primarily used for web development and is an essential language for front-end web development. It allows you to create interactive and dynamic web pages. JavaScript is also gaining popularity in back-end development with the advent of frameworks like Node.js.

3. Java:
Java is a robust and widely-used language known for its "write once, run anywhere" principle. It is used in a variety of applications, including Android app development, enterprise software, and large-scale systems. Java has a strong community and extensive documentation, making it easier to find resources and support.

4. C#:
C# (pronounced C-sharp) is a language developed by Microsoft and is primarily used for Windows application development and game development using the Unity engine. It has a syntax similar to Java and is known for its simplicity and ease of use.

These are just a few examples, and there are many other programming languages to explore based on your specific interests and goals. Remember, the most important thing is to choose a language that aligns with your interests and motivates you to learn and create.

I encourage experienced programmers in the forum to contribute their insights and recommendations as well. Together, we can create a valuable resource for beginners to navigate the world of programming.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have, and we'll do our best to assist you on your programming journey. Happy coding!

There will always be a need for developing control and embedded system. Learning python etc. is important, but also devote sometime to learn PLC programming. Programmable logic controller that is. These are here to stay for most machines around the world.

Javanian:
EMBEDDED SYSTEMS

An embedded system is a multi-agent system and computer system designed for specific control functions within a larger system, often with real-time computing constraints. It is embedded as part of a complete device often including hardware and mechanical parts. By contrast, a general-purpose computer, such as a personal computer (PC), is designed to be flexible and to meet a wide range of end-user needs. Embedded systems control many devices in common use today examples of devices with embedded systems are telephone switches, mobile phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), mp3 players, mobile phones, videogame consoles, digital cameras, DVD players, GPS, brushless DC motors, induction motors and DC motors.Embedded systems contain processing cores that are either microcontrollers or digital signal processors (DSP).

I don't know too much about embedded systems but i know embedded systems are created mainly with C and Assembly Language. I will come to programming languages later.

@qtguru
So I'm a UI/UX Designer who has been designing for about 2yrs now, but I want to upskill to become a Design Engineer. I've not really written code before, but I know basics of HTML which I took for about a week before I abandoned the course then. I saw this bootcamp by Joe Brendan for anyone who wants to become a Design Engineer, the major language is JavaScript, although the first week will be a crash course on HTML and CSS.

While it claims to be beginner friendly, will you advice me to go through this path or you have better suggestions? This is the curriculum

It's not bad, it's a soft blow to Introduction to JavaScript because JavaScript and HTML DOM API is a lot but for 50,000 naira it's not bad, just take this in mind, that no course can teach 100% so I will suggest getting a good book on JavaScript. Look for this book Professional JavaScript for Web Developer.

This is it, honesty it is not beginner friendly at all from the structure to the explanation coupled with the comprehensiveness, although it is pretty straightforward it is not an easy read.

But it is the best for experienced developers sha, no bullshit just straight to the point writing style.

It's not meant to be read overnight, it's a book for consultation, I've been reading this book for 4 years and I am no where covered on everything, I consult it when I need to work on a specific part.
