i am of the opinion the new year/eve should be a time of sober reflections on how much we have achieved through the year, also that has the proposed set-goals(milestones)have been met, if so how effective if "no" how do you strategise to work your way through a new year to become the person you plan to be, but reverse is the case the way people get wasted is quite alarming and very scary even to the point of violence is this a Lagos thing, Nigeria or the world at large?

I believe, it's a world at large thing, it kind of symbolises drowning the old year.
