JudgIng from the commentarIes of some fellow nIgerIans that I'll rather classIfy as a waste to the nIgerIan society I can categorically say that Nigerians are very pathetic people and we are our own worst enemy. If Nigeria refuses to release those criminal sailors the heavens will not fall and Russia will do no jack, the least they can do is to cut bilateral relation with Nigeria and I'm dead sure that no country in the west will risk that kind of economic suicide for some few fuvcking sailors when their economy is in shambles. But it's so alarming that some peeps thinks that Nigeria is country that can just be slapped around by any world power just because of some unimportant sailors and don't forget that we've got friends that are strong too who wouldn't let anybody come into their farmland to destroy their crops.Somebody was even talking abt drones , honestly I think it's high time people begin take IQ test before joining NL-READ MY LIPS RUSSIA IS JUST BARKING THEY CAN'T BITE AT LEAST NOT WITH THIS ISSUE...mtcheww 9 Likes |

I can see people calling them terrorist even before they are tried and found guilty, and as for Nigeria gov been weak if you were in their position what will you do? they have not offloaded the shipment so as far as you know their defense might be shipment not for Nigeria but for other country we only entered Nigeria water by mistake so what will you then do Is killing going to stop the next ship from carrying the next guns? The reason why i think western gov always support their people is because they are in a Democratic country and the gov serve the people but it's only in Nigeria people serve the Gov, when they see someone in Gov they bow because he will throw some money on the floor or they will get one contract from him or her, they are meant to be begging for our votes. I think we need to change individually on our thinking mentality i don't really care if the Russian leave or stay because this will not stop the next shipment, and you guys are not looking for the Nigerian that asked for the goods in the first place because there will need to be a demand for the guns before the Russians can pack them and heading our way 1 Like |

Drdaps: POOR NIGERIAWho is this 15 Century man Anyway no cry Africa have been relegated to the backbench of world affairs as mere spectators with no voice and unfortunately no choice. The only choice we have as a people is to build our own country and be proud of it no matter how poorly built, but I'm also optimistic that somehow someday we'll overcome all this imperialism being shoved down into our throat by the West it may not be this generation but we can raise a generation that'll say enough is enough. 1 Like |

They said bilateral trade agreement is threatened abi? Well, I don't think Nigeria and Russia have so much in trade as compared to Nigeria and China/Asia or Europe or U.S., so their threat is just hot air. However, if after three months, yet they haven't even charged them, this is absolute madness. Everyone deserves the right to a hearing in court. |

We have so many illitrates on Nl and the few educated ones know little about inter-states relations. The westphalia treaty sets out the relations among states based on sovereignity while the treaty of utretcht sets out the balance of power among them.what we forget to realise is that Nigeria and Russia are both sovereigb states irrespective of their size, population, economic or military might. Russia only has more power than Nigeria because it is a veto-wielding nation of the united nations and one of the five that can independently start a war.Now let's look at it,what has Nigeria done to warrant an attack ? The russia would only strain relations with Nigeria and nothing will happen. The US has threatened to cut off aids to Nigeria if it eventually banned homosexuality but Nigeria still maintained her stand and nothing happened. If Nigeria jailed the Russian, the government of Russia will only come and dialogue with Nigeria, possibly bribing for their release. P.s The united states of America paid the sanction imposed on Di*ck Cheney former vice president of the UD for his complicity in the haliburton case to the Nigerian government and heaven didn't fall. 4 Likes |

Nigeria the land of my "fathers" the land of brave men and warriors. Its shameful what has happened to us, our leaders fell asleep while their opponents worked and now we reap the harvest of laziness. RUSSIA has been known to have poor human right records. We shouldn't forget what Russia did to Georgia a few years back and what USA did to Iraq, almost anything can happen again. All they need is a flimsy excuse. |
