Toks SUV Ride At A Far Cheaper Rate!!! by mrhello: 8:30am On Feb 07, 2013
Hi guys. Pls help a fellow Nairalander. I gt an advert of a toks ride (SUV) frm here a few days back, followed it up & actualy saw it as advertised by d agent aka car dealer within Lagos metropolise. It's parked on a kind of car stand (cos there a few other cars around it). It even hs Lagos cleared sticker pasted on it. Tested it & noticed a few things 2 b done on it is manageable. I requested 2 meet d rightful owner but they claimed not feasible.

D skeptical thing abt d ride is d price being far cheaper than d current market price: imagine d diff. of abt N200k to N250k, toks & not naija used! D dealer attributed d price to d need 4 urgent disposal cos d real owner had financial problem. Do we call dis good buy, favour or a fraudulent set up?

I'm abt making d pymt but getting scared it's nt a stolen ride. Pls wil d VIN summary be sufficient 2 detect d authenticity of dis ride. Or what else do I need 2 request or know to be convinced dis deal wont run me into problem sooner or later?

Pls advice. Thx in adv.

Guy! Ma advice for is to carry ur money and go and buy a car u are certain of that won't give u sleepless nights. Go for a legitimate dealer. Y would they say u can't c d owner? Don't buy that car man!

when in doubt, dont. pls run away especially when it is too good to be true. there is no way the owner would desperately need to sell the ride cos of financial problem and not be willing to see who is buying it.

get the guy to show you the original bill of laden and issue a cheque in d name of the consignee in d bill of laden. the agent does not want you to meet the true owner cos he does not want the owner to know how much the car is been sold. this is a standard practice among agents on d issue of diff note that 200k-250k is not a major difference cos must Nigeria car seller try to make as much as 400k profit. I have seen ppl offer highlander for 1.9m and other offer same model for 2.3m
