nigerians and overspeeding. What kind of speed would tear a human being into pieces. It shows that the driver was running above 130 and couldn't reduce speed immediately he/she saw the victim. My opinion is that Most of the people on wheels in nigeria should go for a mandatory psychiatric test.

What a horrible way to die.. Lesson to all is to allow the thief to go his way, theirs no point running after such a person, he/she will definitely meet his waterloo sooner or later!

RIP to the young lady. embarassed

You judged that her action is "wrong". Why she ran after her bag, we'll never know.

Who knows if she had her wedding preparation money in that bag. Who knows if her engagement ring is inside the bag.

Point is, she never saw her death coming.

For all ya blaming her for chasing the snatcher, what she did can seen as Reflex action. I'm sure if she had succeeded in crossing the express and chasing the thief, she would definitely give up after sometime.

RIP to her.

Mr man, pray something like that doesn't come your way. perhaps, this happens to you, you would understand what she had gone through psychologically and thank God if you still have your life.

When faced with a situation like hers, one either flights or fights. Since such reflexes are automatic, so one reacts without thinking.

i.e a person freezes when a car comes crashing towards him, while another moves to avoid the contact.

If she knew she was going to die, she wouldn't have done what she did nau

OMG! What a terrible end to a promising young life, I feel awful just reading this. I pray her gentle soul finds Eternal Peace, and her family and Groom that never got to tie the knot draw strength from the Lord to bear this irreplaceable loss.

For those that are judging this lady for chasing the thief who snatched her bag. It's an instinctive action, when your property's snatched by an opportunist thief (which is what an unarmed mugger is). You act purely by reflex, it has little to do with the value of the snatched item of property, it's just an instinctive desire to recover what's yours. I'm sure we've all been there one way or the other, we've just been lucky things didn't end the way they did for this young lady.

Have a rethink.

Vehicles have killed many people. Just Saturday night in Aja, a vehicle knocked down a hawker and killed her.
That's the second death I'm witnessing on that spot.

chaircover: Its very easy for people to blame the poor lady, but when one is confronted very fast paced events like this, you dont have time to think your actions , reason jumps out of the window and you just act on the spur of the moment.

I had my handbag stolen in South London years ago. I had parked in front of a shop and had quickly popped into the shop. My handbag was on the passenger seat in a car and the car window was wound down. On my way out of the shop I saw a thief reach into the car and take the handbag and without thinking I started screaming and started chasing the thief down the road. He dropped the bag and legged it.

Was there anything valuable in the bag?. NO! because I already had my purse with me at the time and this was long before the birth of Ipads and blackberrys and the bag itself was not even a designer bag.

The police were called and I was told off for leaving my handbag open to theft and also for chasing after the thief but they acknowledged that what I did was a normal reflex reaction.

I was lucky, because with hindsight I know that anything could have happened that day, but because this has happened to me before, God forbid if it happens again, I will be in a position to tell myself to calm down, think & weigh up the dangers before acting.

This is a terrible tragedy and I really feel for her family and loved ones. RIP Lady.

Forget about reflex action, lets say this same thief took your hand bag with valuable items and ran into traffic would you follow? Please lets call a spade a spade here!

We all know how deadly high ways are especially in Lagos were there are no speed limits, if she just stayed put the thief would have died and she will end up having her handbag back without moving a musle self.

I pity her sister, family members and husband when he hears the sad news RIP.

What a tragic loss....RIP, lady sad.... But honestly if someone snatches my bag or phone.. I won't run.. First, I will be shocked, rooted on the spot, then placed my hand on my forehead, trying to calm the sharp pain that will register in my brain... Then say,oh Lord... But why? ....I will be so confused for several minutes, until possibly he has ran out of oblivion or see him ,hit by a car..and oh wat a relief!... No reflex action will make me run after the thief.. Cos I wasn't expecting to be mugged... God deliver us from the evil pple..

RIP lady sad sad
