I'v been married for four years now and I'v tried everything.I mean everything medically.done all the tests under the sun and moon.its been so crazy.I started with HSG,scan,hydrotubation,accupuncture etc.I was told I have adhesions and that may be the reason for the inability to concieve.Though I dint get to know this until about 2 years later and with about 5 different hospital cards in my hands.It got to a stage that I cry everytime I get AF,I get so depressed and just don't Know what to do. I assure you that Nigeria's medical system is a joke.so many hospitals are not good enough to be patronised but ppl don't get to know until they'v tried and spent so much money.God help us!They kept on telling me everything is Fyn,keep trying.and nothing was happening.alhamdulilah for dh cos he kept me sane with encouragement and support.reminding me of Allah's words. I've used so many herbs to help clear the adhesions but its not working like I want it to and so Dh and I have decided to go for IVF. We'v initiated the process and we're using the bridge inshaAllah.I'm starting stimm next week and keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best from Allah.I'l keep you ladies posted on how it goes inshaAllah.all the best to everyone on this journey.and I pray that we all get our babies very soon-ameen

Remember that we can observe 2 nafilas,if ttc is getting too difficult and ask Allah to bestow us a child.If you are insulted,oppressed because of ttc,turn to Allah,use the opportunity to pray for the prayers of the oppressed will be answered[can't remember the hadith now] and avoid oppressing people.NO SHAKING,MY SISTERS,We all are going to be granted pious children soon mashaAllah[wait,we are in the 24th of Jumadal ula,3 months to ramadan,May Allah grant us our BFPs b4 ramadan,so we can use the whole ramadan to glorify our Lord[may Allah spare our lives].

Also remember the story of[are they sahabahs?]that were stuck in a cave when a large stone block the entrance of the cave[if you know the hadith or ayah kindly help me out],they supplicated to Allah saying things they did/eschewed out of the fear of Allah and the stone rolled opening the entrance of the cave.what have you done out of the fear of Allah?The goods things you do,the bad things you eschew.Lets use it to pray like Oh Allah,i did so and so because of you,i want you to bless me with pious children,grant me a bfp b4 ramadan and a fruitful delivery.lets all try this and lets see the number of bfps that we will get b4 ramadan.make the prayer continuously.i hope you are all in.

O mankind! If you are in doubt about the Resurrection, then verily, We have created you (i.e. Adam) from dust, then from a Nutfah (mixed drops of male and female sexual discharge, i.e. the offspring of Adam), then from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood) then from a little lump of flesh – some formed and some unformed (as in the case of miscarriage) – that We may make (it) clear to you (i.e. to show you Our Power and Ability to do what We will). And We cause whom We will to remain in the wombs for a appointed term, then We bring you out as infants, (1) then (give you growth) that you may reach your age of full strength. And among you there is he who dies (young), and among you there is he who is brought back to the miserable old age, so that he knows nothing after having known. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down water (rain) on it, it is stirred (to life), and it swells and puts forth every lovely kind (of growth). [Surah Al-Hajj, 22:5]

(1) Narrated ‘Abdullah (ra) Allah’s Messenger (pbuh), the true and truly inspired, said: “(As regards your creation) every one of you is collected in the womb of his mother for the first forty days, and then he becomes a clot for another forty days, and then a piece of flesh for another forty days. Then Allah sends an angel to write four words: He writes his deeds, time of his death, means of his livelihood, and whether he will be wretched or blessed (in the Hereafter). Then the soul is breathed into his body. So a man may do deeds characteristic of the people of the (Hell) Fire, so much so that there is only the distance of a cubit between him and it, and then what has been written (by the angel) surpasses; and so he starts doing deeds characteristic of the people of Paradise and enters Paradise. Similarly, a person may do deeds characteristic of the people of Paradise, so much so that there is only the distance of a cubit between him and it, and then what has been written (by the angel) surpasses, and he starts doing deeds of the people of the (Hell) Fire and enters the (Hell) Fire.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 3332)
Pregnancy Issues in Islam

When researching this topic, information from an Islamic perspective was suprisingly difficult to find. Especially when it came issues related to miscarriage, stillbirths, infertility etc. These are not topics that most people openly discuss and are obviously very sensitive issues.

I have listed some useful links on the web at the bottom of this post. I also asked various sheikhs, consulted various du’a books and most importantly, the Qur’an and Sunnah. With my extremely limited knowledge, I have listed below my findings. I hope it will be useful to people, inshaAllah.


NOTE: the prayers and acts of worship are about spiritual healing which can also have a profound effect on physical healing too. These can be done in addition to any medical treatment/consultation.

Surah Al-A’raf (7:189). Prophet Adam’s (as) offspring: “If You give us a Sâlih (good in every aspect) child, we shall indeed be among the grateful.” (transliteration: tba)
Surah Al-Imran (3:38). Prophet Zakariyya’s (as) prayer: “Lord, from Your grace grant me virtuous offspring: You hear every Prayer” (transliteration: Rabbi habli milla dunka zurriyathan, tayyibathan, innaka samiuddu’a)
Surah As-Saffat (37:100). Prophet Ibrahim’s (as) prayer: “Lord, grant me a righteous son” (transliteration: Rabbi habli minasswaliheen)
Surah Al-Anbiya (21:89). Prophet Zakariyya’s (as) prayer: “My Lord, do not leave me childless, though You are the best of heirs” ( transliteration: Rabbi la tazarni, fardawwa antha khairul waaritheen)


Surah Ar-Ra’d (13:. “God knows what every female bears and how much their wombs shrink or swell – everything has its measure with Him”
Ar-Ruqiya (remedy by recitation of invocations over a patient) e.g. in the case of repeat miscarriages and infertility.
In addition to the above Qur’anic references, there are many things we can do to ask Allah for help and expedite our du’as: (Note: these are recommended for BOTH partners)

Allah’s Names & Atrributes – choose qualities that fit your needs and recite them frequently, e.g. Al-Bariul Musawwiru – “The Shaper out of naught, The Fashioner”
Study tafseer and translation of the meaning of the Qur’an
Praying 5 daily salaat on time
Giving Charity (sadaqa) – even if it’s a couple of pounds a week
Voluntary Fasting
Tahajjud (night prayer)
Durood (sending salaat and salaam on the Prophet, saws)
Going on Umrah/Hajj
Abstaining from haraam and major sins.
PATIENCE (sabr) and REPENTANCE (istighfar).
IMPORTANT: Avoid: any kind of ‘taweez/tabeez’, talismans, amulets, etc. and only go to a qualified and genuine Raqi for advice on ruqya. For more info, check out the ‘Jinn & Devil Survival Kit‘ series of posts – can be found here. Be careful of fraudsters, magicians, so-called “herbal/homeopathic” therapists with “magical” cures!

Update: Other things to try:

a) Reciting Qur’an and authentic adhkar (ruqyah) and then blowing into water and olive oil. Drink and bath with the water and apply olive oil over tummy/pelvic area and lower back.

b) Drink zamzam water with intention of healing

c) Make lots of du’a to Allah to heal and protect

d) For men: take 1 zinc tablet daily

e) Eat healthy and sleep well – a good healthy balanced diet is extremely important

f) Drink milk

g) Drink honey (mix a spoonful into warm water or eat honey directly)

h) Eat dates

i) For ladies: Get familiar with your menstrual & ovulation cycles (e.g. make sure you try before the monthly ovulation)

j) Make sure you let your GP know after every miscarriage (also notify them as soon as you find out you’re pregnant) – depending on where you live, usually you can get referred to a specialist after 3 miscarriages

k) Depending on where you live, you can get referred to a specialist after one year of trying to conceive

l) Get yourselves tested (both men and women) for any medical conditions

m) Read and listen to as much Qur’an as possible – daily – remember Qur’an is shifa

n) Sponsor an orphan, e.g. through Islamic Relief and other charities

o) Think about and consider fostering and adoption – research and check whether this is something you would like to do

Don’t Ever Lose Hope

If you are trying for a baby, like everything else you do, put your complete trust in Allah, as He also tells us in the Qur’an, in the very next verse of Surah al-Hajj, “That is because Allah: He is the Truth, and it is He Who gives life to the dead, and it is He Who is Able to do all things”. [22:6]

Reward of Jannah – From “Paradise and Hell”, Sheikh Umar S. al-Ashqar’s chapter on “The Delights of the People of Paradise – The wishes of the People of Paradise”, p294:

Another will wish for a child and Allah (swt), will grant him his wish immediately, and the child will be conceived and born in a hour. Tirmidhi, Ahmad and Ibn Hibaan reported with a saheeh isnaad from Abu Sa’eed that the Prophet (pbuh) said:

“That the believer wish for a child in Paradise, it will be conceived and born and grow to the desired age in an instant” (Saheeh al-Jaami, 6/5. hadith no. 6525).

Dear brother/sister, if you are facing any of the issues mentioned in this post, I know it is so difficult, no words can explain how you feel and what you are going through… family, friends, colleagues, all having children. Although you are genuinely happy for them, it is extremely difficult, as you are reminded everytime you hear someone’s good news or see them, you are reminded yet again of what you don’t have. I tell you, inshaAllah when good news will come, you will never take it for granted.

Take comfort in the fact that Allah will reward you for your patience, your continued struggle. You’ll always be a better parent, as you’d be a better person through continuous self-development through salaat and other acts of ibaadah. You would be an excellent example and role model for your kids, inshaAllah.

@Rainyday,so sorry to hear about your condition.the adhesions can really be a set-back. Hope its not giving you pains.pls you need to make good research on your condition.the tubes are delicate and any adhesions in them may easily block them because of the small size.pls try and see a specialist.may Allah make it easy-ameen

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam), "The supplication of every one of you will be granted if he does not get impatient and say (for example): `I supplicated my Rubb but my prayer has not been granted'.''
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

The narration of Muslim is: "The supplication of a slave continues to be granted as long as he does not supplicate for a sinful thing or for something that would cut off the ties of kinship and he does not grow impatient.'' It was said: "O Messenger of Allah! What does growing impatient mean?'' He (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, "It is one's saying: `I supplicated again and again but I do not think that my prayer will be answered.' Then he becomes frustrated (in such circumstances) and gives up supplication altogether.''

Commentary: We learn from this Hadith that one should continue beseeching Allah without ever thinking that in spite of praying for a long time, his prayer has not been granted. One should never allow frustration to overcome in his mind. If a person's supplication is not granted for a long time, there would be certainly some good for him in that delay the reason of which is known to Allah Alone. It is, therefore, essential that he should never cease to pray whether his prayer is granted or not. Persistence in prayer is certainly beneficial to him.
