Rangers get injury boost

Enugu Rangers have been boosted by the quick recovery of injured players ahead of their CAF Champions League fixture

Posted: 18 April 2013 Time: 11:09 am

Enugu Rangers have been boosted by the quick recovery of some of their injured players ahead of their weekend CAF Champions League fixture against Recreativo Libobo of Angola.

Defenders Ekene Iwuorie and Ousmane Pape Sane resumed training on Sunday although the Senegalese defender (Sane) will still not be available for this weekend's game.

The club captain Godwin Ayalogu has also shaken off injury and will be available for this weekend's Champions League game.

Rangers defeated Nike United 3-1 two days ago in their Federation Cup game, and will play Riverlane FC in the next round.

Riverlane knocked out Rangers’ feeder team after defeating them 2-1.

1992 league fixture between 3SC and Pillars, in which things went awry in Ibadan after which one of Pillars guy slapped the referee after the game ended 1-1 apiece, still plays in my head till date.

Since I got to know about our league, I never heard of any clash at Adamasingba stadium until that one and never after again. Since that time, I used to fear Kano Pillars o; I won't lie to you. grin

Fear them with the mindset that if it doesn't go their way, na fire-4-fire o. I am not correct with that assumption though, but that has been my mind towards them grin grin

Every club should search for their own sponsors na. No one's holding any club back.

^^^ sponsorship is encouraging.....however, we should be careful to avoid clubs running into debts

how do you mean?
Re: Official NPFL Thread. (nigerian Professional Football League) by saintneo(m): 7:46pm On Apr 19, 2013
The people running these clubs are not financial educated. 80million can make a club chairman embark on spending spree so as to have a ReaL Madrid of Naija. In addition, this could make clubs create over ambitious budgets.

I believe the sponsors won't hands off na, they surely would want to know how their investment's being handled na or don't you think so?

It is my dream one day to buy Shooting Stars. Then I will make it the Arsenal of Ibadan. Best youth academy in Africa, and make money by selling directly to Europe. First get a very decent youth coach team. Physical trainer from germany and Nigerian army. Tactician from Holland and Spain, ably assisted by Nigerians...dreams dreams...summer footy camp for U15. Real U17 etc.

You should know that I was joking now.
The main thing is to get a win or at least a draw.

I know you were joking, but then we have El Kanemi fans on NL and they're likely not going to see the joke in your comment.

BTW, i heard the LMB are not carrying the club owners along in most of their decisions taken so far on the league. the club owners are trying to meet tomorrow to declare the LMB illegal even though the NFA issued a warning to the club owners not to go ahead with any meeting tomorrow.

I just do not understand what is going on in the NPFL any longer. sad

Here we go again with our merry-go-rounding style. 2 years ago, same story, last year, same issue. And this year again, another issue is boiling. Where are we going for God's sake?
I just wish our sports managers can be bribed to retire. They have no business there at all.

To all El-Kanemi fans, I am sorry for my previous post; I was just joking. I love you all with the love of soccer.

Quit being a mummy. You said nothing out of order. If i am a footballer, i would be scared to play in Maidugri.
Even President Jonathan with his 10,000 security officers were scared to visit there until recently. You dont need to apologize when you say anything that is a fact or truth no matter how much it hurts.

What makes it a fact? is it only 3SC that have played there this season? abeg talk wetin you sabi jor.

Was it not the same Mad the governors went to? are they no people living there? he has corrected himself, so just let it be.

Talk about football and leave "trivial" things for beer parlor mongers.

honeric, no matter how you look at it, Maidugri is not safe. If i have the powers, no Match will be played in that state. Elkanemi should be moved toa safer state/stadium until that state is certified safe. What is the need of sending 2000 police officers to one game when they can just be moved to another city or stadium..

Our collective problem is that we judge things with sentiments. Enyimba may play safely there but ther is no guarantee that others will do the same.
Just today, at the border with Chad, over 185 people were killed in a gun fight with jtf. www.nairaland.com/1265467/185-killed-boko-haram-fights-jtf.

Does that sound safe to you? If your son is a footballer, wouldnt you be worried that he plays in a hostile environment such as borno or yobe state?
