NFF say Kenya responsible for their troubles

Nigeria say Kenya are responsible for their own travel troubles in Nigeria, and chose a dilapidated primary school to train despite being offered a much better pitch at National Stadium, Lagos.

On Wednesday, pictures emerged showing Harambee Stars players training on a grassless ground in Lagos, and their officials reportedly blaming their Nigerian counterparts for shoddy arrangements

But NFF official Bola Oyeyode, who is the coordinator for the game, told KickOffNigeria.com that the Kenyans had no one to blame but themselves.

“To start with, they were playing hide and seek about their travel arrangements,” Oyeyode began. “They refused to communicate their arrival date to us despite numerous letters from us to them.

“In all those communications, we copied their embassy here and Fifa and we still have the letters here.

“It was only on Monday afternoon that they wrote to us informing us they would arrive on Wednesday afternoon.

“Even their embassy was finding it hard getting information out of them. an embassy official called Mr Tony was doing his best to help us, but even he could not get anything out of them.”

When information eventually came, it was too limited, according to Oyeyode.

“They told us they were coming with a 25-man delegation, but didn't give us any names, so we could not book the connecting flight to Calabar early.

“When it was getting late, we used our relationship with the airline to book 25 seats with no names, only for them to arrive with a 35-man party.

“In their letter, they never said they wanted to train in Lagos. The arrangement was for them to come in and fly straight to Calabar. But their flight arrived at noon, and the flight to Calabar is usually at 11am.

“At no time did we discuss anything about a chartered aircraft. Even our own team, who are African champions, flew to Calabar on a regular commercial flight.”

Regarding the training ground, Oyeyode said the Kenyans picked the substandard ground on the advise of one of their ‘consultants’.

“We went out of our way to book the training pitch of the National Stadium in Surulere for them at very, very short notice.

“But they refused to go there, after they were advised but one their men on the ground here, and they chose that primary school to train.”

I was feeling angry with NFF for the shoddy treatment, well now i know a little bit,i thought the kenyans were playing games as well but was suspecting the NFF of starting it.

Fair play to the nff for their efforts if they are being honest.Nothing but a resounding victory to the Super Eagles on saturday.

Thank God the NFF has come out to disgrace and put a stop to the madness on most Nlanders insulting them. They are always quick to judge and sentence people on Nigerian social media and forum without properly verifying news. Those who crucified NFF in the first thread should go bury their face in shame

Abeg Leave all that excuse Jare..Are we Kids? how did they get access to train in a primary school without our knowledge. Wouldn't those responsible have known that it was going to embarass the country. Now it has backfired, one govt officer is making excuses. Im not absolving Kenya Of blame here But we all know the NFF can arrange accomodation at short notice for anybody. Why take them to a hotel owned by an NFF member.

the questions we suppose to ask before blaming nff ...

1. have they treated any visiting team like that before

answer is NO

2. what will they gain in treating a team that is not even close to super eagles in anyway badly?

answer is Nothing

our team is better than them ... and we are more civilized than them ... so i think the kenyans really need to be cained for trying to make us look bad with their cheap mind game

nonsense

Na wa for you sef.Na everything about Nigeria you must find fault? Can't you deduce the tactics the Kenyans are trying to use on Nigeria? If you don't get it they wanted to sneak into Nigeria and train without being spied on but it all backfired.

I blamed nff initially when I read a dfrnt story thinking it was a delibrate act by NFF but with this clearification then NFF is discharged and aquited.
The kenyans should be taken to brono state to be tot some lessons for misinforming me ab initio, making me blame NFF and nw I feel bad for my initial blast.
They were even playing hide and seek with their embasy here and coming with 35 crew members as against the 25 they earlier stated was crazy, they tot we still run the operation feed the nation program abi hence they had to come with an entire community to come and eat free food and lodge in a 5star hotel on whose purse?
Them don enter 1 chance be that na.
I know NFF people can be very annoying but I have never heard of them been hostile to visiting teams, atleast that is not on their CV.

Are Kenyans not use to the climatic condition around 1PM than our foreign Players?I believe Kenya is hotter than Nigeria and our Super Eagles players ought to be the ones complaining here.Lastly i have never heard that NFF treated any team like this in decades of hosting other footballing country. If you must know whenever they host other countries that is where they loot money therefore they do guide their business jealously. My friend nor let me get am hot with you this afternoon cause the cold too much as i dey type now.Be very careful and stop being silly with all your attempt to blame NFF abi you be Kenya person?
