Heavy gun fire and explosions in Ganye, Adamawa state. Police station and prison were attacked. From where I am seeing flames and thick smoke around the prison and police station areas. The attack started around 5.00pm but from all indications the attack is over because there are no more gun shots. |

I'm in Numan Adamawa state and I've also heard about the incidence. This is what Chief Timawus Matthias, a respected journalist put on his facebook wall: "Gunmen are reported to have attacked the Prison, Police Station, and a Bank in Ganye town, Ganye Local Government of Adamawa State. DailyPost has received information from Adamawa State, which says unknown gunmen have attacked a prison and police station in Ganye Town. Our source stated that the assailants, used explosives to gain entrance into the prison, where they have reportedly set several inmates free. A branch of a first generation bank was also attacked. According to the details we got, the exchange of gunfire was still going on at 7.30pm. |
