Yes you are definitely right. Right from time, Yorubas valued the sanctity of life and were not rushing to sell their brethren for money unlike the igbos, until the colonial masters' violent raid could no more be withstood and they started taking slaves. igbos are fools, and bloody senseless liars like achebe, twisting history. igbos rather flatter themselves and falsely use mouth to spoil others' image. igbo unity is FAKE! they kill themselves for money with ease. Unlike igbos, Yorubas know that LIFE is more than money. Cynthia, that beautiful girl was severally Molested and killed by 4 igbos for money. This year alone so many ritual killings in igbo land, 38 people were killed and dumped in a Ezu River in Anambra, 12 toddlers were killed in another...several unresolved killings for money in igbo land, what a people. igbos are fools, and bloody senseless liars like achebe, twisting history. I don't know any other tribe that is as ungrateful as d igbos. d Thoughtful Yorubas accepts them like brothers yet they rant about us. They are cowards, hausas are slaughtering their brothers like rams in the North, they do nothing.igbos always think they r d wisest and that is why they are fools who think life is only about money.igbos r d Genesis of d problem of dis country, traitors who spared their greedy leaders in January 29,1966 Coup. The civil war would not have happened. Yorubas don't betray, read history, ur useless father azikwe started d betrayal thing when Awolowo helped him to d top and he didn't fulfill his part of their agreement.in d January 1966 igbo coup,Brgd Ademulegun, Col Fajuyi and other Great Youruba Millitary Men were killed, as usual d ever deceitful igbos, against the agreement, told their greedy leaders to skedaddle. igbos must apologize to d Yorubas now!d YORUBAS are already uniting and getting ready for u people.igbos or hausas, what u want is want u shall get from us,Peace or War!
You convinently forgot to mention una Yoruba human part forest in Ogun state.
They Yoruba woman who turned to a bird nko?.they two Yoruba guys who murdered a military guy on the streets of London?. Stop wiping up tribal sentiments cause Ur tribe is responsible as any other tribe for the sorry state Nigeria is in .Its on record your tribe gave Nigeria its first massive election rigging case under the auspices of akintola(no wonder gej en buharis propaganda en election teams er composed mainly of Yoruba),was the first region a state of emergency was declared in Nigeria ( as early as 1962)-u should note that nzeogwu started his coup planning after seeing the way he and his men where used by Yoruba Politicians during that period.its also on record that the Yoruba kingdom of Oyo derived its fund's from slave trade.
The guys found in the river ezu @ anambra where murdered massob members.
En for your information traits of the Igbo culture can be found in Cuba ,Haiti in USA the Igbo slaves in haitai played a leading role in the fight to make it the first liberated black nation.
Yoruba unity? Have you ever wondered how Ilorin dominated by Yoruba fell under Fulani influence?
I would like to inform you that in a show of "Yoruba unity" a certain Yoruba war lord invited the Fulani's jihadists led by usman dan fodio to fight against his king.he won the battle but lost the war because the Fulani soldiers killed him and took over Ilorin.that's how Islam came south.it might also interest you to know that ur Yoruba pals spent much of the 20th century fighting among themselves that the Europeans simply watched them weaken themselves en then colonised them with agreements signed sometimes on the battle field.

The purpose of this thread is for education and enlightenment and not for hate.

BIAFRA:
For decades, the Biafrans/Igbos has been talking of starvation by Awolowo/Gowon and Sabotage from the Niger Deltans. Please, this piece is an highlight of What took place in the MidWest Region as at that time(I purposely don't want to go into that of Old Rivers State)

Mid West Invasion

Biafran Soldiers Crossed from Onitsha to Asaba. They Captured Benin, Auchi, Okene, Atani etc all in then Mid West Region.

igbo man Installed As Governor

Banjo Advised Ojukwu to appoint a non-igbo man as Governor of Mid Western Region, but instead appoint Ogbemudia or any local. Ojukwu Refused and appointed an Igboman Albert Okonkwo. Not satisfied, the Biafrans move to enter Ore.

Opposition Against Biafra/Igbos

On August 17 Governor Okonkwo installed a dusk to dawn curfew in which only citizens with passes would be allowed to move freely at night.

Human Right Abuse By Biafrans

Non-igbo citizens, especially the Hausa community, were subject to harassment from Biafran soldiers while women were often molested and sometimes raped, this in retaliation for the 1966 anti-igbo pogrom.

RESISTANCE BY LOCALS

Resistance groups began springing up constantly consisting of mainly ethnic Urhobos and Ijaws.

COUNTER RESISTANCE BY BIAFRA

By August 18 Okonkwo had assembled a force of 780 reliable volunteers to keep natives from attacking or killing Biafran soldiers.

RESPONSE BY LOCALS

Cooks began poisoning Biafran soldiers whenever they had the chance to and it was because of this that Biafran soldiers began only eating food that was cooked by ethnic Igbos or self-cooked. Rebellious natives who did not wish to fight would often seduce Biafran soldiers to get information out of them and tell Nigerian authorities.

KILLING of BIAFRANs BY LOCALS
On August 20 a group of Urhobo/Ijaw rebels raided a Biafran camp and were successful in killing 50 soldiers while 16 rebels were killed in the skirmish.

HUMAN RIGHT ABUSE BY BIAFRANS

Biafran soldiers began raiding and pillaging villages throughout both the Mid-Western Region and Niger Delta inhabited by anyone other than igbo civilians

At Abudu, over 300 bodies, including those of children, were found in the Ossiomo river as the Biafrans withdrew

Similarly, on 20 September 1967, 'there was a mass killing of non-Ibo MidWesterners at Boji-Boji Agbor', and on 23 September, 'non-Ibo speaking MidWesterners were apprehended by rebel soldiers at Asaba, Ibusa and Agbor and taken [in two lorries] to a rubber plantation along Uromi-Agbor road and massacred'

The more minor cases of rape, extortion, seizure of properties, and other punishments featured abundantly.

For instance, a Warri-based lawyer, E. K. Iseru, testified at the Tribunal that he was stripped Unclad and detained for three days without food for agitating for the Rivers State, and, when he complained of hunger, he was promptly told: 'there is no food for Hausa friends'.

REPUBLIC of BENIN DECLARED

On September 19 President Ojukwu declared Governor Okonkwo President of the Biafran puppet-state, the Republic of Benin, in an attempt to make citizens of the Mid-Western Region loyal to a government other than Nigeria

NIGERIA ARMY RESPONSE
On September 20, while the Biafran 12th Brigade was stationed in Ore, the Nigerian 2nd Division under General Murtala Mohammed attacked the Biafrans and almost immediately forced them to retreat. The retreating Biafrans destroyed the Oluwa Bridge and managed to get a vital head-start in front of the advancing Nigerians.

LOOTING of The Treasury by Biafrans:

When the 12th Brigade reached Benin City they alerted their comrades and, instead of mounting a defense, Biafran soldiers began looting the city, even stealing $5.6 million from the Central Bank.

***i won't go further to what happened in Niger Delta***
I challenge Any Mid-Western Citizen(Delta/Edo States) to ask their Grandfathers or whoever witnessed the War of this Account.

In the mid 18th century, Brazil was 10 percent free blacks. Not counting slaves. See you can as well ask why Portuguese culture dominates Brazil and not Igbo!. Be color blind. Yoruba was a socially advanced nationality, more advanced than Europeans in some areas back then before the industrial revolution while Igbos were an isolated people like the Koma people in Adamawa. That is the answer to your question. In other words the Yoruba were peers of Europeans back then unlike now.
