The ICT is a huge niche and its making a whole lot of money for people.
Don't dull Nigerians, go get a skill, it'll save you when jobs fail you!
Getting a skill in website design is cool but programming is more profitable.
See the boy age sef... Pheew!!!

why would they focus on failed ideas? how many business men tried to make money and lost money? Just because people failed doesnt mean we shouldn't try.. Nothing good comes easy

Frosti: They should talk about all the failed ideas that never maid the news.

The boy got a lot of support from other investors to succeed in it. In Nigeria, even if you come up with such idea, it may be difficult to get people who will be willing to finance it. There are a lot of talents in Naija but the talents die due to lack of support from people. Even the government will not finance anything for us. I Wish the boy good luck.

Wow,this happened and everybody believes it or people thinks nigerians are dull!!!

We are our own problem,I remember wen 4 or 3 secondary school students in lagos did something more than this,o yes, they developed a urine powered generator.this on its own is a classic....what did most of you say?
You said it was lie n rubbish, not until wen aljazeera confirmed it and tested it before nigerian believed and after that,it has been forgotten.

No big man\9ja company bought this idea n not to talk of developing.

Smh for 9ja n its inferiority complex

Today's youth in Naija think entertainment is the fastest way to make it.
Men, at a tender age of 17 this guy is coding seriously.

It is a plus on the teenager's side, $30 Million is very big.

Yahoo bought the company "summly" and has closed it down. I think they need the skills of the teenager in their own company and nothing more.
Re: Teenager Sells Mobile Startup To Yahoo for $30 Million by eforce: 6:35pm On Mar 26, 2013
The saddest part of this whole thing, is that the nobody is talking about what he has made, how he made, and other ideas in that same spectrum, every body here is either talking about the money or giving excuses why they don;t need to apply themselves and achieve their goals.

when this guy was making this app, he wasnt thinking about 30 million dollars, he was trying to solve a problem, he wasn;t blaming the economy or other trivial things, he went ahead and did something, and that is exactly what he said, yet no one is talking in that line.

vanstanzy: OMG! We seriously need a good education system in this country to match this feat. What? With our shabby education system, only like 2 percent of Nigerian youths can be this smart.
This is just great for the youngster, congrats.
Then you've gat to include my name among the 2 percent. Wot is my Brain meant for any way? Is it only for Playing games and using other peoples brain child? No, dis lil Guy just poked me and arose the sleeping genius in me. "Were u Live don't count but the Brain in ur head does" .

Apps that will earn u that kind of money in naija.

1, Bomb detector: can detect bombs miles away from where it is installed.

2, Boko haram detector app: detect boko haram members miles away from the system.

3,Bribe detector app: detect bribes being taken in naija real time, showing both the giver and receiver

4,Ritual murder app: detect ritual activities where ever it takes place in nigeria, showing the person involved.

5: Ban forecast app: detect the next item to be banned by govt a year before it is band and location (okada)

One lesson i've learnt from this is that, present day investors don't need your proposals (what i want to do) anymore. They need what you've done. If you've got a brilliant idea: develop it, test it and run it, then investors will come looking for you.

Um... Never! Sorry to crush your hopes. As long as you dont have an honest government in place to set up policies in place and guide the people to greatness. All your dreams, hopes and aspirations, will remain just that.
