Etisalat has put a permanent lock down on BIS on Z10..you have to subscribe to their dedicated BB10 plan

Been using one for about a month and I can help you with questions you may have

DATA PLAN

FULL BIS will still work with no problem on all networks

Stay away from 'Social' Plans on all networks....they dont work

COMPLETE plan should work cos it only restricts no of email addresses you can register on BIS but BB10 doesn't handle email with BIS. anyone using this should please confirm

UPDATE: I have a first hand experience that Glo BB COMPLETE PLAN work with no problem

New BB10 Data plans,
STAY AWAY from GLO BB10 MIDMONTH plan, it has been placed on 2G network to block video and audio streaming

The great news is BB10 will run on any normal data plan for andriods, iPhone, mifi etc so we dont even need the crappy BB10 plans being introduced by the networks

APPS
To get the very best apps on the BB10 OS, look for apps with the 'BUILT FOR BLACKBERRY' designation.
if you search with those keywords in Blackberry world, you'll see a long list of apps that are in that category

so long as you have a Blackberry ID and you have the most up to date versions of your Blackberry Protect, BBM and BB World

once you have all those, make sure you use your BBID to log into your phone so that your BB Protect, BBM and BB World are all synced to that BBID

when you use the same BBID to SetUp your Z10 or Q10, all your mails, contacts, BBM friends, SMS etc will move over

you can also use the device switch method using BB Link

have you tried to update the FB app to the very latest version? you need to open BB World and check to be sure you have the latest version of the app

Hello Z10 peeps, am unable to play videos on my Z10, even videos recorded with the device is now not opening. How do I resolve?

Do a hard reset. With the phone still on, pull the battery and put it back after 10 seconds then try to play a video again

Have you tried the hard reset? My songs play normally.
I deleted the facebook app though so can't say much on that

lol ...what i meant was, if you get a facebook message, it appears instantaneously on your Z10 hub and that tells you that particular person is online at that particular time

the FB for Z10 is not yet as fully featured as the one you see on androids and iOS which already has FB Messenger integrated and allows you to view FB friends currently online.

But I've not been able to find the Skype app from the blackberry app world. I tried downloading from the link you gave above and it redirected me to app world saying that the app is not available for my device. What's the problem?

What device? Have you updated it?

you need to have updated your Z10 to the 10.1 OS version. then you can download SKYPE and Whatsapp

so many peeps missing most features of Z10 cuz their OS is lagging behind...10.2 loading jellybean 4.2.2 joor

Please do you the link to manually download and update my phone software to 10.1. I've used an Etisalat, glo and airtel sim and none of them are pushing the update. Need to do something asap. Don't have whatsapp and now I can't use Skype

thats very strange cos i have updated 2 Z10s to 10.1 with Airtel and Etisalat sim.

maybe you should use the Blackberry Link Software that is installed on an internet connected PC to do the update.

Plug the Z10 to the PC
Open BB Link on PC.
make sure internet connection is working fine
open 'Settings' in BB link once your Z10 has been recognized
Click the 'RELOAD Software' tab

that should pull the latest OS update for your Z10
