Sorry that I didn't expand my answer. This is my own interpretation: being in love is feeling the passion, having butterflies when you see/talk to the other one, wanted to spend all your time with the other one, etc. Loving someone refers more to care for one person, loving them for who they are and not only for what they bring you/how they make you feel, it's really to want the best for one person even if that might not be in your own interest, it's being in a relationship but at the same time being able to grow outside the relationship.

I used to think being in love and loving someone were the same things, especially because both refer to love. You can fall in love with someone but then being unable to really love them on the long term. Just like you can love someone without being in love. Most of the time I think that two people fall in love, are in love with each other. But the issue is that when the passion gradually fades away, many don't know how to love the person without feeling the passion and the effects of being in love. We have to let the other person have their own life outside the relationship, even if we want to spend all the time with them, that's how the relationship grows stronger.

That's only my interpretation. Maybe other see it in a different way. It's probably a matter of what you've experienced.

You are very right. I have experience it that's why I open this topic. When I first started dating my partner, I thought I was really in love with him but as time went on, I fall so much in love I mean I couldn't not even understand how my feelings magnified...I thought I was in love back then but maybe I just loved him and then years later I really fell deeply in love with him.
