This is not exactly correct. Blackberry uses a compression technique to save data but this does not apply to every Internet function in BB. It applies mainly to chat and email. Now with BB10, the BBM has been separated from the other Internet access. The reason BB still saves data is because the applications don't access the Internet like droid apps. If you control your data access in droid, you can achieve the same data efficiency.

Also, with BB10, blackberry phones will consume data just like any droid phones. The reason it is still cool in Nigeria is because most Nigerians mainly do chat and email. By the time you start downloading badazz apps and doing regular updates and playing online games, you go know say kaki no be leather.

BB is already going the way of the dinosaurs and BB10 was a very weak attempt at come back. Whatsapp is certainly about to send bbm to oblivion. BB's days are numbered.

people always come-up with argument about blackberry and android, when the different is clear in a country like this government don't care to provide a good wireless network that can sav the country, everybody just buy data plans for internet, android need a wireless net. to connect before you can enjoy it i'm a heavy browser and i knw how much i spend a day staying online with an android phone but with my bb torch omoh i dey online 24/7 you knw what it is using a router connect your 2 pc with your bb with the same bb bis just 1500 a month you are good to go, i like android and blackberry but for Nigeria bad network sake i prefer blackberry because our isp too dey fuckup but with blackberry you are over-connected and as i'm typing now i dey use my bis to browse on my pc, so talking about android here for naija na wash go for bb majority carry's the vote ni what is hd games are you still a kid for more games go and buy nokia

Blackberry is not an expensive phone so forget this your line of argument. You can pick up a brand new bold2 for as low as 22k or 23k. That is cheaper than even some techno droid phones. The expensive BBs are as good as the cheap techno in functionality. That's the issue

Blackberry or Android? It's your choice.

But i wouldn't advice anyone on BB, although it's top notch for communication in Nigeria (if you want to reach a wider audience).

I never liked BB, but thinking of getting one cus of the Nigerian factor. Even my boss thinks it's inappropriate not to have one. Smh!

As for data plans, i heard the Z10 does not have BIS, so my brothers thinking BB is cheaper for data charges, welcome to the world of Android, Apple and symbian users.

As for me, i'm still with Nokia (C7) and loving the damn phone, as it serves all my needs (mails, HD games, HD recording, wireless hotspot, twitter, Facebook etc.) for now.

It's a thing of choice.
