Hey folks, I was as baffled as you are right now when I heard about this. I was discussing with a friend some days back and he told me that it now costs 1.2 Million naira for a 2 minute video on NTA Newsline. When I heard this I asked just two questions;

· Does the NTA Newsline still exist?
· If it still does, who in this country watches NTA Newsline?

When you can get CNN or Al-Jazeera on your television sets for as low as N1,000, what will entice an individual to actually sit back and watch a 10pm news show that will bring news to people that probably might have already heard about them on Facebook, Twitter, Nairaland and the rest? How many people have given you calls about your video after it was posted on NTA Newsline? Am I missing something here? I pray I’m though.

If you need a word for this, I can lend you one; INSANITY! I mean, how can you pay N1.2 million for a 2 minute video that;

· You cannot pause, rewind or make reference to at any time of your choice?
· Doesn’t even guarantee you a clear video?
· You probably might miss if you had other things to do at that time?
· You do not even know how many people are watching it? (Forget all false claims of wide viewership)?
· You do not know the kind of people that watched it? (Demographics)

Some people say their ‘oga at the top’ loves the show. Is that enough reason to splash out N1.2 million for a 2 minute video? Why do you have the internet? Why do you have Youtube?

My advice is simple. Please go for value. The internet will offer much more value than this with less than half that price. The internet is measurable. It’s better to give the money to charity than to do this.
