off course you must judge them from their posts........ what else would you base their character upon, if not what they write on NL? this is the only thing you have at your disposition (and a photo), but since you cant judge someone by their photos then all you have is posts to have an idea of how this person think.

Most people put up a front that isn't true about their true selves.You can figure this though by the extreme persona they choose with their posts i.e extreme feminist, se...xual guru, bad girl/boy,atheist, religious fanatic, etc. In truth, we all have a bit of either side of the coin in us. So, meet this person of your curiousity and just find out as much as you could. Good luck.

I believe man has the natural capacity to manifest several profiles. Based on this positing, it would be very difficult for one single person to draw inference from a myriad of posts.

For better accuracy, you have to seek other people's assessment of the said person. Even Jesus Christ had to ask His disciples what they thought of Him, what the people see Him as.

However, if you wish to go solo on the case, know that it is only logical that you work with what is visibly available - his/her posts.

Sometimes we unleashed the madness in us just because we're humans and every human has that trait in him/her. How are you sure the person in question won't find one or more things pissing about you? You guys should meet first and fast and see if the personalities exhibited online is the same or opposite of the true being. When it comes to yardstick.... Count NL out..... It could be a good indicator at the same time fake.

Ok, @OP, I don't think you should judge NLers based on their posts. Even though some people tend to be stu*pid in derailing thread, and posting inconsequential comments when important matters are being discussed, I don't think it means that they're like that in real life. Also, people that make reasonable contributions may not always be the nice ones.

But I'll advise you to fear those 'holier than thou' posters cos its better to meet someone who's 'bad' online and who turns out to be nice in reality, than to meet the 'good' ones who turn out to be bad.

for me i post based on the few comments i see on the thread. if i see guys derailing and i love it i join. when reasonable matters are discussed, i do so.
