Which Nigerian Book Would You Want Adapted Into A Movie? by Dospix(m): 10:55pm On Apr 28, 2013 |
Many successful & critically acclaimed movies in the Western World have been adapted from books/novels. Examples are The Count Of Monte Cristo, Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, The Last of the Mohicans, Wuthering Heights, Lord of the Rings, The Da Vinci Code, Dracula, Alice In Wonderland, Anna Karenina, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Les Miserables, Memoirs of a Geisha, Jurrassic Pack, The Sum of all Fears, Clear and Present Danger, A Time to Kill, Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story, The Runaway Jury, The Pelican Brief etc Coming back home, the same cannot be said to be true as very few of our novels/books have been adapted into movies. This leads me to the question, which Nigerian book would you want to be made/adapted into a movie that you'll pay good bucks to go watch at the Cinema? It could even be a book/novel by a Nairalander. Let's hear em 1 Like |

I would rather prefer books with setting that gives a vivid portrayal of the Nigerian Traditional society. Books like, Things fall apart, Joy of Motherhood, The concubine...i would also love 2 see a book centered on d hausa and Yoruba tradition as a movie 9 Likes |

Purple Hibiscus could make a great movie. The role of the protagonist's dad could launch an actor's career if well performed. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Return of lightening by red mosquito if he ever finishes it. Still thinking of nigerian actors for their roles, they'll probably just mess a good script up. Well idris elba as sango. |

I would love to watch a movie based on the novel: Joys of motherhood by buchi emecheta...but the problem is if our nigerian actors and actresses will be able to convey that passion, message and emotions felt when one actually reads the novel |
