Honestly this one is tragic, my friends are fine didn't reach their areas. This is just the spirit of death in action and it can come in diverse form be it natural disaster, boko haram , road & air accidents etc.May God deliver our souls from evil . Amen

I think it is because most africans(we) are religious. Some people are of the school of thought that natural disasters are God's ways of punishing the West as a result of their godlessness.(I kinda agree )
