Oh, come on, this is not about hate. Its about the rule of law.

Afterall several Nigerians were up in arms when the House of Assembly was bent on impeaching OBJ. If it was hate the public would have backed N'naba and his moves. At the end of the day he(N'naba) was voted out in 2003.

We appreciate what he has done, now its time to leave. Every guest eventually overstays their welcome no matter how nice they are.

Happy New Dawn to everybody.

This is just the beginning of the end for enemies of the Nigeria People.

Giving it a deep thought, I will like to be more vigilant in the days ahead, u can never be too carefull with these set of selfish people. We should be red alert, they are full of funny tricks.

''Worse still, what an abject ridicule is Obasanjo’s self-proclaimed glory of war against corruption should anybody already on trial for alleged corruption be among the preferred members of the National Assembly offered the N50 million bribe as inducement to vote for Obasanjo’s third term?
Certainly, Nuhu Ribadu and his EFCC must be under serious strains on this matter largely because they are clay-footed. If offering N50 million bribe to and taking of same by the preferred members of national assembly to vote for Obasanjo’s third term is an acceptable from of lobbying, why were ex-senate president Adolphus Wabara and former education minister Professor Osuji disgraced out of office?

It is of course well-known that offering and taking of bribe is a cardinal principle not only of the PDP but also of the presidency itself. In 2002, seven members of House of Representatives displayed the sum of N3.5 million (Three million five hundred thousand naira) as the total of half a million naira offered to each of them as an inducement to impeach ex-House of Representatives speaker Ghali Na’Abba.''

Ribadu, EFCC under strains

Economic and Social reforms indeed
Look at this statistics and facts:

1.   70% of the Nigerian population living in poverty on less than a dollar a day.

2.    The under-five mortality rate stands at 203 per 1,000, meaning that one out of every five Nigerian children dies before reaching his or her fifth birthday.

4.     40% of young children suffer chronic undernutrition.

5.   Half of Nigerian adults are illiterate and only 55% of eligible children currently attend primary school.

6.   Massacre of hundreds of unarmed civilians by the Nigerian military in Odi, Bayelsa State, in November 1999, and in Benue State in October 2001

7  Assassinations of high-profile politicians, e.g Bola Ige

8.Human Rights Violations Investigation Commission, known as the Oputa Panel have since submitted its report but neither the commission's report nor its recommendations had been made public by Obasanjo till date.

9.   The unconstitutional suspension of the Governor and House of Assembly of Plateau State and their replacement  by an Administrator (retired Gen. Chris Ali) by President Olusegun Obasanjo .

Should I go on
Enough of this man

OK, I am going to put some answers to your "facts"

1) 70% living under poverty is very high. However, was that Obasonja's doing? It took decades to get Nigeria to the current economic situation and it would take at least 2 decades to raise the country to a respectable level.

2) When the country is so poor, stop having children. How can people that are living under poverty be selfish as to reproduce.

4) Stop having babies.

5) The adult population that is illiterate is not Obasonjo's fault. As for the 55 % of children that are eligible to attend primary school, where do you get that fact from? Also, again, stop reproducing if you can barely feed yourself.

6) I am not aware of any of this. Where any generals charged? Why did the National Assembly not launch an investigation? Is there any evidence to suggest that OBJ was behind these attacks? What were the situations that led to these attacks?

7) I doubt OBJ would want the assassination of the man that saved him form being poisioned in jail. However, he should do a sweeping crack down. Heck, imprison and execute IBB if he can't find who is really responsible.

8 ) This is a major problem.

9) The suspension of the Governor and House of Assembly of Plateau State was as a result of unstable conditions. If I remember correctly, the federal government is allowed to declare a state of emergency when things go out of hand.

Please, go on. And what would anyone be able to do differently?

Also, those Nigerians that can barely feed themselves and end up having more than 2 children are a major part of the problem. Use birth control or do not have sex.

Alh Shehu Shagari
Gen Babangida

Why is the North predominantly opposed to the third term agenda (TTA)? Are they suddenly born again democrats? why were they silent when June 12 was being fought for? Why were the oppositions against babangida and abacha mainly a southern based rebellion?
Who are those who never fail to tell us they are "born to rule"?
Why do we have so much northern opposition to resource control?
why has the north constantly kicked against a federal system of government?
Why do we have JAMB, quota system and Federal character and to whose benefit have they been?

this is NOT a personality attack but questions based on observation!
Re: Obasanjos Third Proposal Defeated: ! Hurray: Going Back To Otah Farm Is A Must by Nobody: 8:59pm On May 13, 2006
For your benefit Danmasani,

i will reporduce an essay from http://www.nigeriavillagesquare1.com/Articles/Alaran/2004/11/nigeria-governance-politics-and-oil.html

Post civil war, the Northern region has used dominance in national politics to ensure that region has disproportionate access to oil revenues. Their efforts led to the national capital being moved from Lagos in the former Western Region to Abuja, within easy access of the Northern power base. Significant oil revenues have been spent on building Abuja from near-virgin forest to a "federal capital city".

Under the guise of "national quotas" (a form of proportional representation), the over-centralisation of government has also ensured that Northerners gain control of the national budget (70pc of which is funded by oil revenues), government spending (mainly by award of contracts), the civil service (the largest employer in Nigeria), and the military forces.

http://www.voanews.com/uspolicy/archive/2004-07/a-2004-07-16-4-1.cfm (Politics of polio eradication in nigeria!)

Nearly three hundred new cases of polio have been reported this year in Nigeria, with most of the suffering taking place in the predominantly Muslim northern states.
The World Health Organization was on track to eliminate polio altogether from Africa by this year or the next. But local officials in Nigeria's north stopped their vaccination program in 2003. They cited claims that the vaccine was part of some mysterious Western plot to render Muslims infertile.
At present polio in Nigeria represents 79% of all polio in the world. In other words, 79% of all children paralyzed since the beginning of this year by the polio virus are living in Nigeria. In addition, the spillover from Nigeria into the rest of Africa, has made Africa have 88% of all children who are paralyzed [by] polio in the world.

Ill start by saying that i am a detrabilized Nigerian and co-habit more with people from the south of Nigeria than with those from my place BUT will not hesistate to counter lies made against the North of Nigeria

First u said that Gowon,Shagari,Abacha and Babangida brought this nation to her knees. Well that's undeniable but will you tell me that this guys were the only people on top and at the helm of affairs. How about Alex Ekwueme( from shagari), Aikhomu,Ike Nwachukwu,Uche Chukwumerije, Olabode George ( all from Babangida) or Diya, Oyinlola,Patrick Aziza,Tom Ikimi,Tony Anenih ( from abacha), they didnt contribute right? When Samuel Afolabi came to OBJ's govt and invited a friend to "come and eat", did he mean eat puff-puff- Is samuel afolabi a northener. when Chuga Okadigbo stole the mase to his village, misappropriate funds and said he didnt come to Abuja to "starve", are the north to be blamed. Even when Tafa Balogun said he'll bounce back, The North told him to say that right?

You talked about June 12. Yes, Babangida was President. But so also was Obasanjo, Anenih, Chukwumerije were major players. Remember Obasanjo's famous remarks, " Abiola is not the messaih Nigeria wants". Those elections saw Abiola having a resouding victory in Northern Nigeria, Bashir Tofa even lost at the polling both in front of his house! Who were Abiola's powerhouses? Shehu Musa Yaradua, Abubakar Atiku, Jonathan Zwingina, all Northerners.

When Abacha was going crazy, who was heading his tribunal? Patrick Aziza is the name. Is he a northern? No. Who lost their Lives? Shehu Musa Yaradua, a northerner. Was lawal Gwadabe not jailed, how about Abubakar Dangiwa?

You said we believe we are born to rule Nigeria. That is a lie. No one, i repeat no one has that right in Nigeria no matter how powerful they are. Democracy is not the same as military dictatorship. No one casted a ballot for Babangida or Abacha, they all came in through the barrel of a gun, Democracy and guns do not go together. So if u ask me how many times has the north governed Nigeria, i'll tell you twice! Tafwa Balewa (Prime minister) and Shehu Shagari. The rest of them were not voted by my grandmother, my father, your father, someone father nor anyone. They foisted themselves on us all! If the north says she wants the power of Nigeria, she doesn't say it belongs to her. she is only clamouring to get it like any other section of the nation. See, Political unity has always been our backbone. Even as religion trys to splinter us, we'll alwayz stay united. That was the legacy Sir Ahmadu Bello bestowed on Norhterner Nigeria so do not blame her if she clamours for power. As i said, it is not our birthright, but we have a right to seek it, just like everyone else. And if u check Nairaland good, you can see that I am clamouring for Emeka Anyaoku for President (He is Ibo and not a northerner).
North has never kicked against the federal system. Gowon's regime, started it. I wonder where u get your facts from.

You talked about JAMB. The british came into Nigeria and first set up schools in the south. By the time they came to the North, the south was ahead of us. My grandmother can not speak english and yet Akintola Williams became a lawyer. Well Akintola-williams had the oppurtunity to go to school as schools were available. The first school in my locality came around 1935. My dad had to trek miles everyday to go to that school! So why wont we have advantage when it comes to JAMB? You stay in Rochester,NY i supposed, Have u had of the Educational Oppurtunity Program (EOP) for african-americans, latinos and others around here. The inequality in education was too much and there had to be a need for it. Is it not the same idea behind JAMB slots? Northern Univesities notably ABU, ATBU,UJ, FUT Minna, ABJ all have extremely large populations of southerners. Can the same be said of Southern universities? Do u check malpractice statistics after every JAMB and WAEC exams in Nigeria? where are the highest rates of malpractice found? I was in Ibadan in November 2003 and coudln't believe my eyes at the exam center where a friend was taking an exam? Is that Justice? And i am not saying that without malpractice, you can not achieve good grades, No, Nigeria's most intelligent minds come from the South-west, but so also are exam malpractise rates.

On Polio, any responsible government anywhere will alert its citizens if they suspect that any substance they consume is bad or adultrated. Thats why we have NAFDAC? so Shekarau has everyright has a state governor to stop Polio vaccination on his people till allegations are confirmed or found to be true. Have u pondered on what could have happened if it were true? don't we get fake drugs from the same West and China? When the controvery ended, who was the first to vaccinate his siblings, Shekarau and Ado Bayero (emir of Kano), so what does that mean?

You tallked about Abuja. Murtala Muhammad government which Obasanjo was involved in sought for a "Nigerian Capital in the heart of Nigeria". The reasons among others included security, environmenrtal and strategic. Lagos was becoming over populated and was located at a port, right in front of the Atlantic. So Abuja was chosen. Because Abuja was right in the middle of the nation and unoccupied. Has the north ever clamied to own Abuja? NO!. No one owns Abuja, even the Gwari's do not. They only stay close to Abuja. And should the nation's capital be neglected? No. Any sensible government in this world will develop its capital. Note-Abuja is not a state. It is a Federal Capital "Territory". Belongs to the Federal Government. No North or Arewa is in "FCT".

See i can go on and on, but they fact remains clear, Nigeria is down not because of any section, but because of every numbskull who has thrived, stolen and crippled her. Babangida didnt give me his money, nor did Abacha. We must always open our minds and be objective. It only shows who low we can descend to point our fingers to others when we know that we have and still contribute a substantial part too in Nigeria's problems.

They need for Nigerians to be detrabilized must be emphasized. We can't keep doing this forever. If the past generation has failed, then ours must right the wrongs. That's the only way we can move forward. The american doesnt identify me as a northerner, he describes me as a Nigerian. I must therefore work hard to see that the Nigeria is geared towards greatness. We must open our minds and find unity please!

Say No to Third Term and Nepotism!

When Abacha was going crazy, who was heading his tribunal? Patrick Aziza is the name. Is he a northern? No. Who lost their Lives? Shehu Musa Yaradua, a northerner. Was lawal Gwadabe not jailed, how about Abubakar Dangiwa?
As a millitary officer, you do not disobey your senior officers! This is not an excuse!

North has never kicked against the federal system. Gowon's regime, started it. I wonder where u get your facts from.
shocked What? Did you read history in school at all? Do you know the difference between a federal system of government and a unitary system?
Gowon started what? By disintegrating thriving competitive regions to set up UNVIABLE states that have become mere appendages of a powerful federal center? So if Gowon started federalism, what system of government were we practicing between 1960 and 1966?
Besides the ONLY region that kicked against a return to the regional system at the just concluded political reform conference was the NORTH! Why?

You talked about JAMB. The british came into Nigeria and first set up schools in the south. By the time they came to the North, the south was ahead of us. My grandmother can not speak english and yet Akintola Williams became a lawyer. Well Akintola-williams had the oppurtunity to go to school as schools were available. The first school in my locality came around 1935. My dad had to trek miles everyday to go to that school! So why wont we have advantage when it comes to JAMB?
Complete bumkum! Akintola went to school BECAUSE his leaders at that time had the foresight to provide free education to their people because they realised that an educated populace is a huge benefit to the nation! What was "the great" tafawa balewa and co doing to bring education to their own people? So is it the fault of the south that northern leaders were so myopic as to shun education? Why must we pay for your own backwardness and ignorance?

The inequality in education was too much and there had to be a need for it. Is it not the same idea behind JAMB slots?
Increasing JAMB slots to the north more than 26yrs after has not addressed the educational backwardness of the north, rather it has completely destroyed the educational system and imposed mediocrity! The inequality in education in the US was due to years of slavery and racial discrimination, the same cannot be said of nigeria. inequality in education in nigeria was due to the ignorance and lazy "government go do am" attitude of northern "leaders". Why should the south be made to pay for your lack of foresight?

Northern Univesities notably ABU, ATBU,UJ, FUT Minna, ABJ all have extremely large populations of southerners. Can the same be said of Southern universities?
If there are more southern students in northern universities, it is because the south has always valued education. Why are northern students not going to their own schools? Did the south prevent them?
While northern parents (even leaders) send their own children to quranic school and turn them to almajiris, we strife to give our own kids a decent education. We educate our own girl child not hide them in purdah and marry them off at 8yrs! our boys go to school not stay at home herding goats and cattle!

Don't even try to defend the polio issue, was kano the only state being vaccinated? Why were southern children not becoming sterile too or were we vaccinated with a special vaccine? Don't we have muslims in the south too? Did you read the apalling polio statistics? Nigeria is responsible for 79% of the world's polio cases because of the ignorance of a whole state governor!

Nigeria is not a "Detribalized" nation! Don't kid yourself, northerners throw the "detribalized" mantra when they want to force themselves on the national cake. Let every man depart to his tents o isreal! Detribalized simply means you all can come and pitch your tents in the oil fields of niger delta and those ignorant illiterates like Prof Yadudu will tell us to move to your desert lands if we feel the environmental degradation is getting unbearable. The same north that claims to be detribalized were the first to throw in the segregation gambit in 1966! Now that they've seen easy oil money, they are now detribalized!
