Hello,

Was reading an article the other day and I came across this issue.

Someone was asking a question on how to handle Relationship issue at the work place.
Specifically he asked " How would HR deal with an intimate relationship between a married man, and an unmarried female colleague"

One response that caught my attention, was from a particular lady, and she said
"As long as both parties involved do not display public affections during office hours, HR has no business with them"

Sometimes it is difficult to differentiate between ethics and morals.

Ethically, HR may or may not have any business with employees personal lives (I don't know am not an HR person o) so it's ethical for them to stay out.

Morally, extra marital affairs is frowned on by society, and since most companies recognize marital statuses of their employees, could HR intervene by calling both parties involved, especially as they are both employees of the company.

If you were faced with such an issue, how would you proceed, and why....

Another analogy would be,
Assuming you are psychiatric doctor,
and in the course of counseling a patient, he/she told you in confidence, about a crime committed, lets say murder/man slaughter.

Ethically I believe that patient's disclosures are strictly confidential,
Morally, how do you sleep, knowing that someone just confessed to committing murder, do you report to the police?

Ethics VS Morals, where and when do you cross the line.
