Manchester United defender Rafael and Chelsea midfielder Ramires are the surprise omissions from Brazil's Confederations Cup squad.
As well as the Premier League pair, superstar names Kaka and Ronaldinho also miss out, though the form of both means their particular snubs are unsurprising.

'We could lose out in terms of experience but we will make up for that with the enthusiasm which the young players bring,' the boss said.
The team does include Santos' Neymar, Ramires' team-mate Oscar, Real Madrid's Marcelo and PSG duo Lucas and Thiago Silva.
Scolari had said he would likely choose between Ronaldinho and Kaka for the tournament, which starts on June 15, and the former apparently was set to secure his place after playing well recently and receiving widespread praise from fans, local media and the boss himself.
And while Kaka was struggling to get a chance to play with Real Madrid, Ronaldinho was making the most of his matches with Atletico Mineiro in Brazil.
The former Barcelona man's remarkable performance in a highprofile Copa Libertadores match last week, helping his team rout Sao Paulo 4-1 and advance to the quarterfinals, only heightened expectation he would be included.
Brazil will play only two matches before the Confederations Cup, against England on June 2 at the new Maracana and against Francein the southern city of Porto Alegre on June 9.
The national team is coming off a disappointing 2-2 draw with Chileat Mineirao Stadium last month, when Ronaldinho and the rest of the team left the pitch under loud boos by nearly 50,000 home fans.
Scolari has called up 44 players forfive matches since retaking Brazil's reins in December. Okay, let me give you an idea: he plays for the Mighty Bayern Munich that is set to win a treble this season. He is a super first team player and arguably the main architect responsible for Bayern having the best defence, conceding the least goals in the German league.

And you compare someone like that to Luiz. A guy whose defensive quality is throwing elbows. He's even a better midfielder than a defender.

Guy, it's not good to make such mistake oh. If Luiz was at Bayern Munich, he'd be the 6th choice for central backs.
