Athgo International headquartered in California is a nonprofit organization that will bring 200 students and underserved youth from around 50 countries to the World Bank hq in Washington DC on May 22-24, 2013 to help them build 25 socially and environmentally impactful startup businesses.
Athgo’s 5th Global Innovation Forum at the World Bank’s headquarters titled “ICT Powering Constructive Entrepreneurs” will present intellectual, networking, and financial opportunities to the youth participants. The industry leading knowledge framework, the 4-Pillars to Success, designed by Athgo founder will power this year’s program, providing a unique opportunity for the youth to transform entrepreneurial ideas into reality, capitalizing on their individual capabilities to create value-producing start-ups.
Amongst others, the Forum has the support of the President of the Republic of Rwanda, Mr. Paul Kagame—an inspirational leader who knows the importance and value of young people in rebuilding his country after the Rwandan Genocide. We are fortunate to have the President, along with other top leaders, experts, and executives including those from Boeing, Microsoft, Chrysler, Intel, Daimler, Alcatel-Lucent, the World Bank, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and the Broadband Commission for Digital Divide, join Athgo’s Forum to help guide the young delegates on their trek of building 25 new constructive start-up concepts.
The participating young delegates will go through an interactive process of:
1. Learning about where entrepreneurial ideas take root
2. Joining a team of talented peers from around the world to form entrepreneurial ideas
3. Establishing how best to turn ideas into commercially viable business
4. Turning an idea into a start-up with the guidance of expert advisors
5. Qualifying for Innovation Grants
6. Building friendships and personable relationships with executives, high-level officials, and successful entrepreneurs
7. Moving forward with an actual start-up and their own team
